i heard somewere that shy boys are easier to talk to, so waffling to them might make them more comfortable around you.

Make a joke that they can relate to or just keep them talking, take a real intrest in them. Theyre probobly shy to start with. :)

get to know them or get them drunk :P
the lads that are shy just need time to warm up to new ppl really, im quite shy around new ppl but all it takes for me to perk up and be my self is them to talk to me and like get to know them over like 2 - 3 days and then im fine and im my self. as anouying as i can be :P
Edit: scouse is right get them drunk thay soon liven up and get chatty or if there still a child at heart and get hyper still get them hyper :P

Well il admit it here, i am a shy boy.
I prefer the girl to start talking first and ask lots of questions, it makes me feel more comfortable then i tend to talk more.

I used to be fairly shy, not anymore though.
Make them laugh.
Also, whenever your talking to them or whatever, its better to not have a group of your friends around. Never seemed to help me anyway...
