I don't really know domains very well but I think this is how it works;

Take .co.uk for example, each time a co.uk domain is registerd the company it is registerd with has to pay some guy for that domain, domain companys make little profit on each domain (we're talking pennys)

So say you bought a domain from a company costing £2.50, the company would only get around 10p, thats why domain prices dont seem to go down by much unless the big guy at the top wants less money for some reason.

Its along them lines.

Ok, You can get free ones like the one i have,
It works by the Client buying a domain at say $8.00, the reseller will then pay like $7.00 for the domain to the master account. and you keep the profits you make. if you set ur prices to $0.30 your losing money because you have to buy them for $7.
The more domains you sell the cheaper the domains get for you

What happens is:

You buy a reseller of somebody credible, for .co.uk it SHOULD be nominet, for .com/.net/.us/.biz etc ICANN. Then you pay a percentage each time you buy a domain, say you sell a .co.uk for £30 for 2 years you may pay Nominet 15/20%. There would also be setup fees etc.

You still have to pay for the registration so you can't get free domains, fools.

I (XeoDomains) and other sites (Karlhost.com etc) offer free domain reseller accounts.

The account is free, and you pay a low wholesale price for each domain regisatered, and you put the prices higher to make a profit.

There are other sites, (IE enom, godady) who offer reseller accounts, but these normally charge yearly (around £200? i think) and then charge per domain.

If you want to get more info about xeodomains resellers, look at,
http://reseller.xeodomains.com ($) or
http://reseller.xeodomains.co.uk (£)

or just PM me, i am always happy to help anyone:)
