Why do you now have to pay for VIP sub forums? I used the search feature to try and answer the question myself, but there was a PHP error or whatever.
It's what someone told me, so I'm going on what I've been told.

I agree, sub forums should be free along with VIP.

Removing features that were apart of the package originally is just moronic. As the forum grows older, it grows lamer too. However it doesn't mean I have to leave, so if anybody makes a predictable suggestion - you can shove it up your backsides afterwards, thanks.

It was buggering the server up.

That's no excuse. If they were buggaring the server up so much, they still wouldn't be allowed - you just have to pay, it's ridiculous.
We decided to remove VIP sub-forums from the standard VIP features because there was an overwhelmingly high number of VIP sub-forums that had become very hard to manage. Also by removing them it has allowed those people who really like having a sub-forum attract people faster.

What did you give in return? You're removing the majority of the decent features you're supposed to be getting as a VIP member.
Instead of increasing the number of VIP features, therefore promotin gVIP further, they remove the best feature LOL.

The actual reason was that VBulletin issued something that said more than X hundred forums would decrease performance of boards and possibly cause some critical issues. We had like 300 VIP boards, which put us over and thus made the board somewhat unstable, therefore we made the decision to cut down on the number of VIP subforums by limiting it to bought ones.
In an effort to be fair I did suggest that current subforum owners could retain their subbies for as long as they had VIP, and this was adopted so nobody lost it till they ran out of VIP.

I am wondering if that decision has actually decreased the VIP revenue. I am not saying it has because I don't know. It was right to get rid of the inactive ones but its a shame that the truly active ones could not have had it included in their VIP as it was seen as a step back by the members I think.
Maybe members are happy to pay for them - only you would know that:)
