well main points:

1) no immature little brats in it
2) less strict on rules
3) less filter in the forum (if possible)
4) have more "adult" discussions but no like nakey stuff ect

It would mean the Administrators would have to check ages and "proof of age" on computers can easily be edited.

Also the rules would still most probley stay the same anyway.

And posting DOB is like i could be 18. (:

And me sending in a picture to prove it kinda defeats the point really, why should i along with i could take a picture of someone else's passport ect.

This forum is mainly for teenages so you will always have some imature people. Really the only way to avoid that is to go on an Adult forum however you will find it quite hard to find an adult dicsussion forum.

thats why they put some terms and conditions down and crap like "by joining this group you are providing us with proof you are 16+ and habbox takes no responsibility if the image is fake"...

so teenagers aged 16-19 have to put up with crap by 13 year olds just because it's a teenage forum.

Nope, you get to literally be rude... It's fun, but not for Habbox.

Also, there is no mature conversation in the 16+ forum on HabMate

Yes but the older members get to let their hair down a bit and it doesn't interfere with the rules on the rest of the forum and its an added option if they want it and why not? :)

Well they can be as mature as they like or as immature as they like free from the usual filter restrictions. I don't think it matters that much but then there is no excuse for bad behaviour on the main forum as they have this option :)

I don't think admins and mods have the time to be checking your passports to approve access to one forum :P.

Also, would you really want to give a copy of your passport to some random person on the internet, to prove you can enter a forum? I definately wouldn't

If you don't want anything to do with other people then ignore there threads, it's as simple as that. Instead of getting involved in it and saying 'your an idiot' or ' why post this bla bla *swear swear*' it would be alot more easyier in the long run to just stick to what you want to post in.

Well you don't have to. On Habbo they get you to confirm you are aged 13+ in the T&C then you can have the filter on or off. This is no difference on HabMate. I think its more of a problem to ask young people to produce a copy of their Passport or Birth Certificate. Not being funny that sort of information could get into the wrong hands putting them more at risk.

You can hardly say habmate has a 16+ forum, as you need to be VIP to view it and i doubt its worth it.

Well it is a 16+ Forum, otherwise we wouldn't of named it "16+ Forum". Whether it's worth buying VIP for is a totally different matter, but it is, theoretically, a Forum for individuals over the age of 16.
This isn't a debate about HabMate anyway, it's a discussion on whether they should create such a Forum on Habbox.

Any proof - no matter what type can be edited on the internet. If you really wanted I am sure you can find someones ids on the internet and you could pretend thats you for example. You could even make your own id, I am sure thats not hard as I have seen loads of teenagers do this.

I am not sure what topics you are intending on discussing, maybe you could list them?

Yes but then most people will say they are 16 and the forum will just be open to everyone which defeats the point being made by the thread starter.

I am not even sure what topics are intended to be discussed in such a forum, if one was to be made..

Not being funny you just have to use your common sense about it. We have no problem verifying or denying applications. Topics that perhaps are a bit more adult than is suitable for 11-15 year olds and the filter is lifted for everything but really bad words. No adult material 18+ though.

This forum is for teenagers so all topics here are suitable for 16-18 as well. There is no need to remove the filter just for one forum as everyone should be able to manage without having to swear or avoid the filter. I don't see the point of the forum other than an excuse to break the rules.

Good point.

I do disagree with this idea but it seems some of Habboxs most old/spam crew ;) members have joined habmate and spend more time on there so thiscould be a way to keep more however perhaps rosie could notify you of some of the threads that would/could be posted

I don't think it's practically possible for us to verify the age of individual members.
We could make a forum for 16+ though, but then this forum would still be open to everybody. It would only be an indication that the threads are about things that interest people from 16 years or older.
Just like straight people can post in the gay chat forum, but the subjects of the threads have to do with gay issues.

There wouldn't be less strict rules in a forum for 16+.

Also, you can't prove your age online and also how stupid are you to run a fan site asking for personal details as copy's of passport, driving license or any other stuff to prove there identity.

I know I wouldn't give you my details on my name, address etc.

Oh dear ;) The filter is lifted only in that one forum. The rest of the forum has the filter. They are not breaking the filter rules as there is no filter in the 16+. In the real world 16-18 year olds use language daily that is restricted on this forum and my main forum. They also talk about more adult issues that are suitable for 16/18. Now you are always saying that it has to be suitable for 11+ in the forum so we have, in addition, a 16+ forum that allows them to express themselves more freely and be more themselves without having to worry about the parents of younger children seeing unsuitable language. Also the age of consent for sex is 16 in this the UK so whilst they can have sex they can't talk about it on the forum so they have somewhere that they can
provided the content does not fall into the 18+ category.

Now you may not want this for Habbox Forum and that's fine but you cannot say that its a bad idea. As I say it keeps language out of the rest of the forum well so there is not so much rule breaking there.

Well perhaps you ought to read the previous posts as we don't ask for personal details. Also how does it contribute to the thread when all you say is 'you don't like the idea' - why don't you like it?

As far as your thoughts on HabMate are concerned well we aim to be leaders not followers but it takes time and most Habbo fansites are pretty much modelled around Habbox but it will evolve
and maybe given time members of other forums will ask for our unique ideas to be implemented their forums :)

Exactly, I know ten year olds that swear. I dont always think there is a maturity gap between 13-19 because everyone is different and there are some that are more mature than others. I think theres nothing major that a 13 year old cant handle that a 16 year old can. I think this idea is pointless personally.

Yes, but I would not want to be seen to be supporting the use of language for 13 year olds. As I say it is accepted in society that 16-18 year olds are allowed more freedom. Take Cinema entry? That has loads of different categorys for different ages. I feel that arguement is weak, Matt.
Also maybe the older members want to get away from the younger members for a bit? Its there if they want to use it. No big deal :)

Hmm strongly disagree there and so does the most of society, Liam.

HabMate is small and controllable, and probably has less chances of getting really annoying members (Habbox is advertised alot). Plus HabMate has staff which are probably better prepared for people wanting to join the 16+ Forum. It will take a few days with Habbox, especially with the large amount of members.

Well Habbox does have a large amount of members but not all that many active ones. Yes because I dont allow them to buy rep so It was something else that they could have. Also if they buy VIP they are more dedicated members otherwise people could just come on just to use the 16+ forum which is not the idea at all:)
