If you have an avatar with a word that doesn't avoid the filter, should you get an infraction for it?

I got an infraction for my previous avatar which got removed by some smod for being "inappropriate" even though the word in my avatar didn't avoid the filter...

Depends what the word is. Just because its not in the filter doesn't mean its not inappropriate.

That was my avatar. I didn't see the harm. It's not insulting, penis isn't filtered, and I get told it's inappropriate. Inappropriate to what?

I'm not sure what the policy is now. Words like that used to be filtered, but I think they are allowed now if they are used in a proper contest, like a discussion.

But it's a funny avatar, if we're not allowed fun things on the forum then it would be very dull. The picture isn't offensive in any way, if it was it would be filtered.

I think that was funny, my sort of avatar is ok.

That avatar doesn't break any rules, so the smob who gave the infraction needs to learn the rules and quit "/

If it does however (and the rules were changed somewhere down the line), it must be a dumb rule.

EDIT: Nope there isn't a rule. And judging by the rules, there is no rule saying you can't have swear words or nudity in your avatar. Or at least, I didn't see one?

I get an infraction for it being in my avatar but it's fine when I post it? :S.

That does seem extremely harsh, it isn't hurting anyone.
