what do hosts show up as once you have bought them are they ftp or do the have like upload buttons and stuff i would be greatful for a picture and do any of them have a gd forum wid them

You get a thing called cpanel, which has loads of stuff and i think u can make a IPB from it.

I used to use hostinc and their cpanel set up was quite alot diff. to ax. even though they USED to be an ax reseller and still cpanel x.
