I've been thinking about a few things lately.. and I thought I might as well just make a thread about it.
Oh and if you're gunna post saying " I cba to read it all" then don't bother posting..

First of all:
Insulting on the internet
Well.. It happens. Whether we like it or not, chances are at one point we're going to get insulted.
When you get insulted, don't take personal offense to it. So many people get SO heated over a little comment made by someone. Most of the time, people are only saying it because they can get away with it, and by getting mad you're basically fueling their fire. Just relax and let them look like idiots :)

If you're the one insulting someone, DONT use the word "Noob"..
It's such a STUPID term.. and it's pretty much lost all meaning.

"Hey what's up. My HC for your cola machine?"
"nah sorry.."
"Wow you're a stupid noob"

Get over it? If you feel the need to call someone a noob, at least try to use the brain you were blessed with to think of something better.

You're no better then anyone that you insult really..

Is REALLY stupid.. honestly. How do you know if the person has friends? Since someone plays Habbo more then you it automatically means that they are losers with no life? No..

Scamming

It happens. If you get scammed, chances are it's your own fault. Instead of sitting there crying about it, forget it. Move on. Use it as a learning experience rather then as a bad thing. I've been scammed.. did I go around screaming for donations? No. It gave me the knowledge to be sure that I wouldn't fall for the same scam again.

Now, scamming is dumb (Most people would say this anyway) but like I pointed out before about being on Habbo, just because someone scams it doesn't entirely mean that they are losers with no life. If someone scams just for the items and gets all excited about it, then yeah that's pathetic. If someone scams out of pure boredom, then I wouldn't blame them. Playing games while being poor, is REALLY boring. I'm not saying I support scammers or anything, I'm just saying that not all of them are losers with no life.

Typing

Spam on forums
Like most of the stuff I've been talking about, It happens.
But the thing that I don't get is if, let's say a thread title is
"Discuss the Habbo updates!" and then someone posts saying
"i dont plai habbo, itz gay"

..

Then why post? Why even look at the thread? It's clear that you're either trying to get your post count up or just trying to get attention.

Speaking of post count:
It doesn't matter how high someones post count is. If they post an alt for example, but they only have 20 posts..
Don't go around saying WIPS PLEASE.
If the greatest artist in the WORLD signed up to a forum, they'd have a post count of 0 to begin with. In fact, YOU had a post count of 0.
The only time that I really think post count even matters, is when you're doing a trade with someone and you need a trustworthy person. Post counts are usually helpful because a high post count usually means that quite a bit of people will know this person, and would be able to vouch for them.
Back to alts, If you can't prove that someone ripped an alt, don't bother posting.

The last thing I'm going to talk about because I forgot what else I was thinking of is:

For example, people aren't as likely to -rep me as they would be to -rep a new guy, or if they did they wouldn't leave a name, simply because they probably fear the fact that I'll -rep them back and zomgno lose some points. The internet might not be real life but it reflects it - those with better looking credentials are deemed higher than those without.

As for people on Habbo, they can do as they wish it's their hotel as much as it is yours.

Your point on bullying is void; I'm a clever bully, I know who will be a good victim before it starts, so your scenario never happens. Like I said, those who can't insult properly just shouldn't try.

I'll pick at what I like, simply because I can and it seems to get to you enough to try reversing it on me - oh, and before you come up with "you're replying too", I'm a teacher, I seek to educate those who need it, which is all the motivation I need.

If opinions are so free and you can't have a go about them, then that's pretty boring. Did you really expect everyone to just say "yeah you're so right let me lick your feet"? I'm fairly willing to bet that you're against prejudice and such, yet you openly group everyone who types a different way as being stupid and not worth your (obviously precious) time.

Posts are allowed to go off topic as long as it naturally leads on somewhere. If someone just in the middle of a debate starts talking about sandwiches then it's probably some attempt at humour, but complaining about it won't do anything but distract the topic further.

I think when people do this. It's quite dumb. Because you have no idea who the person is so who are you to be insulting them saying, "You have no friends." You don't know the person.

Okay, I hate when people scam. Are they that desperate? Like seriously.

I find some ways people type annoying but anyone can type how they want.


Spam on forums
Some people enjoy posting & I think even though some people have nothing to post, they still do. Just for the sake of it. Not for the post count, but because they want to post. While other people post for the post count.


Post counts
I really don't see why it matters. It's nice to have a high post count but there's no big deal. Like spamming for more post counts, no sense in it. What's the big deal? For real.

- When I was talking about bullying, and how it might not phase the person and such, I wasn't speaking directly about you. There are people like you who know how to pick a victim and get a reaction.. but there also aren't. Not everyone is as smart. Therefore, the situation still arises. Also like you said, some people shouldn't even try, but they do. So back to my original post.. it's stupid.

I didn't say that they weren't worth my "obviously precious" time, seeing as how I talk to people everyday that type like that occasionally, I just find it dumb, especially since they take it so serious.

- My original post was talking about posts that have nothing to do with anything. That's spam. Spam is pointless posting. If I were talking about posts that lead onto something, then I wouldn't be complaining. - That basically cancels out your comments from before. You said that when you have a high post count/rep it's sort of a sign of respect, but then here you say that people who post in games section wouldn't be well known enough to be respected. So they aren't well known but they have a huge post count. Just proves that post counts mean nothing.
The rep I can see that someone would be "respected" if they have a high rep power (if they've earned it at least), but it still doesn't change the fact that it's pointless imo and it's also dumb to be afraid to -rep someone just because they have a huge rep power.
