As you all will know the owner of the website Www.tv-links.co.uk has been arrested, this is wrong!
the website is not illegal in anyway shape or form, linking is not illegal and we do not condone downloading, so why has the site been shut down and the owner arrested?

Join us in this cause against injustice, sue the hosters not Tv-links

This isn't going to work, it wasn't tv-links choice to close...

Even if it was, they probaly won't listen to a little petition.

Oh yeah, I just realised what you put.

All of the things you said are actually illegal, so, yeah.

These petitions never do anything, they just take up the time of people sad enough to make them.

Its not going to re-open because it was illegal and copyright... what in the hell do you actually think it wil get reopend.. ITS ILLEGAL! :$

It wasn't illegal? lol do explain how.
You need a contract to provide this entertain, and tv-links didn't have 1. Official websites which own programs (like channel 4 with 4OD) do have licences to be able to broadcast (or stream) the programs online. Tv-links did not have a binding contract from a Television company.

Good luck (Y)

Don't tell me what to do thanks. I don't take well to rudeness (although I'm aware you said please).
I did use tv-links, but there is no point in trying to get tv-links back open, there will just be a new website made which is similar to tv-links, usually the case. He's been imprisoned, wise up.

Seriously, you don't understand much about these things do you?

Its illegal, it won't come back, unless they do it in secret somehow.

And a petition made by you isn't going to get very far is it? -.-

There are lots of websites similar to tv-links, but non of them are quite as good!! But surely the hosting sites should be punished not just the link sites. The real reason tv-links was shut down was because they had illegal cam corded vids in the movies section. e.g. they had rataouille a film that has not actually not out yet broadcasted on the site!! So they should have to pay a fine for this and then the hosting sites should be responsible for illegalness of the links!!

Actually it was shut down for everything that was copyrighted. Linking is also illegal.

And the people that host them do also get punished.

The petition isn't made by me!!! A 17 year old can't make a difference but over 1300 adults may be able to reduce the sentence, and implicate the real offenders!!

And how excatly will 1,300 adults sign a petition to keep a website open. ;S

Concept behind this - he's been jailed for something illegal. A lawbreaking offence.

It's like someone trying to make a petition to get Ian Huntley's jail sentence reduced, it won't make any difference. :/

The fact that he put all the links up is illegal, but then all the people who watch the links are also breaking the law, so all yoo haters out there not signing the petition nd enjoying this debate!! Maybe yoo should go hand yourself in considering yoo think yoo are so morally right!!!

The whole website is illegal. The streaming of other's possession without their consent / copyright is illegal.
I know I'm not "morally right" (which doesn't have much to do with this :S We're just stating the facts thanks). Plus what we have to hand ourselves in for if we're morally right? lol.

Their hardly going to arrest 1000's of people for visiting a website.

If it was legal, the owner wouldn't have been arrested. They don't do high publicity arrests with no reason.

I got the 1337th sign. ^^

I think that if they broke the rules, that's their problem not ours. The law should always be followed.

Atleast shes TRYING to do something about it tbh. Sure, it probably won't make a difference, but it might make the chap who got jailed for it think that it was worth it, knowing that so many people appreciated what he did.

+REP Roxy and i've signed.

While you're at it, would you mind signing my petition to release a confessed serial-killer.
He did NOT break the law. Cheers :)

LOL, your comparing a serial-killer to some 17 year old kid who ran an illegal website? :eusa_clap

Plus, as i said, i'm not signing it to get him released/TV-Links back up, just to maybe make him think that the time hes going to do in jail wasn't for nothing. k?

Smiddy

17 year old? He was about 26 I think.. :S

Why shouldn't it be considered just as illegal? It's not in the same context as the other 1, admittedly, but it's still a serious matter.

I doubt he'll even know about the website if he's in jail.. unless they give them internet access too.. lol.

Dudey!
22-10-2007, 10:21 PM
Okay.. I'm just going to ignore that comment, how can you compare somebody actually killing people to someone who posts links to movies on the net, thats just.. LOL.

And, he might get visitors or something? :P:P

Ignore that comment all you like but internet piracy is the fastest growing crime in the UK, and it's good to see the gov is taking it seriously. It may not be seen as a big deal to you but it's a part of the economy of the UK. That's why it's serious.

Don't know how the government think they are going to stop all the sites, theres thousands. And there is a huuuuuuuuge difference between serial-killers and internet piracy, for one the prison sentence is much greater.

And do you play Fall of Man btw?

FlyingJesus
23-10-2007, 05:57 PM
there are far more pirates than there are killers

I've signed the petition but i dont think the petition will make any difference

23-10-2007, 06:24 PM
yeah but its still illegal shanizzle :P thats like saying shooting an old lady to give her jewels to a homeless bloke is a good thing

edit: ok bad example because i think that would be a wonderful idea

What a complete and utter waste of police time. They should leave this to PCSOS (it's about the only thing they're capable of), and spend more time trying to find these inadequate teenagers who shoot people for fun.

They didn't even do anything wrong :/ It was just links to other user's youtube etc... videos >=[

I second the police thing from the guy above +rep
