Depends what rules you are breaking.

accidently breaking the filter a few times, inapropriate image (even though it wasn't even that bad)

and insulting other members.

Depending on severity of the infractions and warnings given out. You will generally be put on a caution before you are put on a temporary ban and then if you brake the rules any further you will be put on a permanent ban. But that's only if you continue to break the rules after these punishments. All this depends on the severity of your infractions (and warnings) though there is no real set limit of infractions for a caution / temporary or permanent ban. Just read through the rules and make sure you think about what your posting before you post it and you wont get anymore bother from the forum moderators.

Bans and cautions are generally only given out based on active points, Not expired ones.

The rules were loosened around pointless and off topic posts sometime ago, This is why warnings and infractions aren't given out for them straight away. Although you should note that if you pointless post alot the Super Moderators are notified and further action will be taken :).
