Clocks go back tonight...

At 2am BST tomorrow morning the time goes back 1 hour to GMT.


GMT, which we are about to go back to, is the UK's natural time zone. We put the clocks forward in summer to make better use of daylight in the evening. We revert to GMT in winter to avoid an unacceptably late sunrise which would make it dark until 0900 even in southern Britain and much later as you go further north.
