I used to go to a school that was open plan with lots of seperate buildings with 1000 pupils but now im in the biggest school in England (building-wise) with 2200 students and the problem is the head doesnt like lessons being disrupted.
Its set out like this:
http://www.oundleschool.org.uk/news/05lent/images/TDA2.jpg
So there are six bumps, each bump has a stair case. Now the head has bought in a 1 way system. For example I was in the red bump and wanted to get the next bump, I would have to go down the red stairs, and up the next stairs instead of just walking like 2 steps. they said it would stop lessons being disrupted and stop huge crowds of people forming, but now on the ground floor there are huge crowds of people and the problem is that Im claustrophobic and I get to a point now were I cant handle it, I get dizzy, my eyes flutter and my stomach gets weird and I didnt know what to do. its probably just a problem im gonna have to face. Anyone got any suggestions? I posted here because it was the most relevant section.

Speak to your office about it or whoever is in charge etc and tell them they might give you a pass to get out of lesson 5 minutes early. A lot of people do it at my school, disabled people etc dunno if they have stuff like that at your school

Our school used to get crowded in the Hallways and that was without a one way system like that, I don't suppose the school would change the system just for one pupil, shame as it may be. I'm not sure there is a "cure" for it but there are thing that can help it if it's really bad such as behaviour therapy, I think it works in some way like getting rid of the negative thoughts about situations in which your condition is present in.

The thing is I dont have enough money for behaviour therapy. Anyway I find it hard because when my eyes flicker I cant see anything and it also triggers my asthma. I'm gonna have a word with my tutor to see if I can get a pass or somthing. They let sixth formers go against the systems so I can use that as an excuse if they say no. But really It could be a danger to my health, I could collapse if it gets too bad.

We cant go outside. theres only the one route now thanks to the one way system. before I used to just go through the middle floor and it was fine.

Na its actually a great school. I like it, we dont go outside but we have more PE lessons, we have breaks in lessons were we can chat and we have a shorter day (finish at 2.30). It doesnt got hot inside because of air conditioning and strong ventelation and lessons are more interactive so we dont get bored. Also teachers do brain gym stuff with us so we dont get bored in the lessons. Also we only have 3 lessons a day (1 hr 30 mins each) and its kinda fun :)

you school sounds well good lol. but if you really still have problems, then go to your doctor and tell him about it all and he might refer you to a specialist for free under the nhs. or give you meds or whatever.
