The forum games here (http://www.habboxforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=521) is used by many users to increase their post count quickly.

A suggestion was made in the Habbox Feedback forum asking to disable post count in that forum and we are here asking if you think that should happen.

The current forum may be hidden and a new one will be created where the post count will be disabled if the majority vote "Yes".

Think wisely, you only have one vote ;).

Make a new one, with post count disabled.

Yeh it should because, the aim of the forum game is to play games,
not to increase your post count. so people shouldnt be arguing anyway?

You should just get rid of it, people only use it as an easy way to get posts. With post count disabled, it'd barely be used.

Obviously post counts will stay the same if the forum was hidden. That's why they're hiding it rather than deleting it.

I think that the forum should just be deleted.
It should have been used to play Forum games, not to raise post counts so it'd make those that took advantage of it pay. :)

yes.... if post count is disabled in staff forums... i think topics like this should be as well

First off, my thanks to staff for making this decision ^_^

Secondly, obviously I voted yes, and am of the opinion that they should be deleted rather than hidden. I'd lose a fair amount of posts myself, but don't care that much - what I care about is that absolute nobodies have kind of forced their way to having a big name by getting themselves a big post count. The compromise of hiding it and having no more counts would work I guess to prevent this in future, but I still think the counts should be gotten rid of all together :P

Why should we hide the current 1, why not just disable post counts in it? :S
It saves people having to make new games, and my word, if people complain about losing posts from their post count because they can't be bothered to copy & paste a few lines or just reply with a 1 word answer, then why should they have that luxury?

I voted yes, but I'm not in favour of their being a new 1 completely :S.

I think that the people who posted in there should have the posts they've made so far removed from their post count. I'm saying that having done a fair bit of posting in there, but not as much as some. Since post counts mean something to people who play and don't play the forum games, it should be disabled. There are people who've reached nearly 19,000 posts by making constructive posts, and people who've reached 19,000 posts from playing games. Most of them only need 1 word answers.

Exactly, it's only a number... it means nothing. No ones gonna use forum games if your post count doesn't increase anyway.

FlyingJesus

If it's used only to increase post count and not for the fun of the game then it's pointless and doesn't need to be there anyway ;) that was a poor argument for leaving it as it is lol

its just a digit, no one really cares how many posts people have... leave it as it is =\

This whole topic is poor in my opinion. I don't see whats wrong with forum games? If a few people want to get their post count up then why can't they, it's only a number after all, what difference does it make? :S It doesn't effect anyones lives does it. This is just taking away another thing some users might like and giving them nothing in return. Bad decision Habbox.

I won't lie, I've spammed there quite a lot in my time here. But that spamming WAS fun. It woud just be a dead forum if posts counts didn't increase, no one would post there, there would be NO fun. The fun would be taken away, like it has been done with many other things on Habbox these days.

FlyingJesus

Don't see why that would be the case, spam is massive and you don't get post count up there, same with in KKK. If it's fun to post there people will post there whether they get a number or not. As for it not affecting peoples' lives, I know that's true but it just annoys me that nobodies can build up a big post count/rep from an abuse of an area and then think they have the right to big themselves up.

I voted No, mainly because the forum would not be used afterwards. If you judge somebody on there post count, then there is obviously something else you should be thinking about... It's harmless fun - why can't people live with that?

Instead of removing that forum, put a limit on how many posts a day you can do in it. The limit could be 5 a day or 20 a week.

I think yes that it should be removed and also the posts that people have posted in there in the past, I know I would lose over 75% of my current post count but I still agree with it being removed and also the posts from there!
Sorry downfall buts its my view!

I think you should just destroy the forum games currently. Make a new one.

no other forums are this strict with rules and reputation and such

so why should this one be?

Why the sudden fascination about peoples post counts? who really cares.. it's not like it means anything.. The forum games keep some members amused, it's something to do.. I find it sad that people have nothing better to do than worry about others post counts.. it means nothing :$

FlyingJesus
05-11-2007, 08:51 PM
I don't get why people who have been saying "who cares?" have voted no, surely they'd be voting option 3... but anyway the only argument for allowing forum games to raise post counts seems to be the ever wonderful "why not?", which is hardly developed.

I still think that forum games shouldn't be hidden (as that would effectively mean the threads which people are saying are fun would be lost), but simply changed so that posts do not increase post count, or moved to a subsection of spam for the same effect. If it really is for fun then people will still post.

To you it may mean nothing, to a lot of people however, a post count is basically a basis of how much influence you hold. It's sad that an incremental number can do so much, but it's fact.
