I will make different colour ones when I code it.

The hands are there to show what will happen if you hover over it

Not too keen on the inner shadow on the container, the whole thing seems too simple for me.

Then again I don't like completely black/white layouts really :p

In all honesty, for black/white layouts to look good you need to right touch,
and the drop shadow looks pretty decent.
I semi-agree with you Simon ^_^
Simple is Good. ^_^

Carbon, I like your work, but your touch to the lovely template, would spoil it.
Sorry :eusa_sile

I like it, it's different then other panels :D
(meaning I asume you read my tips =) )

Anyway it's nice,
Some improvement ideas:

Add 1 color to it, but don't use it everywhere, just one theme color & use it as a finishing touch here & there (ex. for links & icons as >> or something)
I wouldn't use a inner-shadow, I would use a very, VERY small dropshadow instead but I guesse that's just personal opinion :)

Good luck with it ;)

Regards,
Oli

I did read your tips, and I spent ages trying to improve the thing I had, so I decided to redo a layout. Ill post one with some blue on.

I don't know what other people think,

but in my opinion the blue version makes the panel more.. "alive" looking.
In my opinion, it's better now ;)

EDIT:
Maybe have your news title's ("Welcome to dePanel!") in the same blue & turn it bold ?
It would give a better view between articles if you have more then one ;)

Olivier

Hmmm,

To be honest with you,

I would:

Get rid of the other colors (besides the blue)
keep the title 'dePanel' & slogan blue
turn the spiral back gray

Thats what I would do, so thats my opinion but .. have a look ;)

The blue was much more clean & proffesional.
As said before... don't cross the line :) know when to stop :p

The 2nd one was the best yet so far, in my opinion. nice layout.

Nice,

My only comment left would be:

Maybe use the font Verdana set to size 9px (bold/not bold = ur choice) for the slogan & align it to the left (same as your title), as now it looks a bit out of place & quite large.

This doesnt look very good... 9pt was too small.

Yes but try it again but don't set slogan's on -smooth- you know that option right... set it on none, then do 9px.

The blue definitely looks better than the white but my one complaint is the drop down. It is very boring.... You need to add some sort of outline or something so we can actually tell it isn't just part of the page and that it is a dynamic floating element....

Oh, and the grey area/box on the right hand side is down too far on the layout... maybe try raising it a little higher?

@ Scriptz. This is done on photoshop, so I really cant make it look "realistic".

And the positioning can be changed when its coded

Sorry for bumping, but can anyone code it? No tables, just XHTML & CSS. Properly
