So you (invent) can start one but he cant?

Considering when I was making a social networking site, I had the knowledge of how to code one from scratch and I was planning out exactly what I was doing.

This guy seems like he wants to make a site exactly like myspace in a few days, he has no idea how they are run/developed and so I felt the need to post "oh hell no -.-" as it seems he has no idea what he is wanting to do.

Whole lotta' languages in there.
MySQL, CSS, HTML, PHP, Ajax (I think), Javascript.

There's some program on the web to make it.
Not too sure what it's called i'll try & find it for you.

AJAX Isn't a language.

Yes it is. It's a sub scripting language.
sub-language, but still a language.

Wrong, its a technique used in JavaScript.

No, you're wrong infact! It's based off Javascript ;)
Asynchronous JavaScript And XML
AJAX is based on JavaScript and HTTP requests.
As I said, a sub-language based on another language.

In what language do you code it in? Javascript. It in involes xml when you make request, etc. But the language is ALWAYS javascript in which you code. It is never 'ajax'; that is just a term for a METHOD/Technique :)

Yes, but it can still categorize into "sub-language" as that what it is, a sub-language
technique coded in JS to utilise XML and HTTP Requests.

So if I created a php class which interacts with something like xml, I can call that class a sub-language of php?

What I mean is really hard to explain, AJAX was made as a Sub-Language, and has many techniques within it, to interact with XML.

Invent

AJAX was made as a Sub-LanguageAJAX was never just "made". It's been around for years just people haven't used it like it's being used now. No matter what you say I won't agree that it's a sub-language unless a professional tells me otherwise.

Well, we gathered how to, in 2-3 ways.
And that 2-3 people would help.
And that Simon thinks it's a useless idea, although im not too sure how this
could go.

Look at the file extention by all means, but remember it can be changed via mod_rewrite (or Microsoft IIS equivilant). MySpace appears to use Cold Fusion.

AJAX is a type of JS, you dont use different functions for it, you use the javascript functions to make a nice effect, refered as to AJAX
