View Full Version : My Portfolio

Hey,
I have finally decided what to do with all my domains. I have decided to make a portfolio website showcasing my design and photography. On the other hand I have decided to use my yourtropica.com domain to make a clubtropica fansite forum, and then use my iHubz.com domain to make another project, however still floating some ideas around.
Anyhow, I have a design ready for my portfolio site and just need someone to turn it into a site for me. The first thing that has popped into peoples minds on MSN is 'image uploader' - This would be handy however not needed. Currently on www.splurstudios.com I just copy the file and paste it into the folder via FTP and it displays on the portfolio page - when a user clicks it Lightbox kicks in and enlarges (I assume you know what lightbox is?).
There is two ways we could go about this - I give access to the hosting to a coder who can copy over some of the codes from Splur, which would make this a simple coding project, OR the coder could start from scratch.
If you can help me out, please PM me or reply to this thread. Really looking for someone who can do this tonight, as I need to get alot out of the way. I am away all day saturday, and on Monday I am busy with the 'Fusion' Issue Two project which is being printed in 2 weeks.
Thanks!

I hate that current site.
A portfolio is supposed to showcase your skills, thats just a white page?

This is NOT about Splurstudios. That is an old website.
It is about creating a new site, however maybe using some of the image displaying code from Splurstudios. Please keep this thread away from the design of Splurstudios.
Im sorry but no way did you take that:

Even though its great to get a bee, the picuture is a little fuzzy. I have hundreds of other photos, just have not uploaded them because I have to resize each one.

Come on guys, I am still needing a coder. Want to get these projects rolling so I do not have to worry about getting coders etc next week and over the weekend as I am very busy trying to get a magazine out on time.

Excuse me, I don't understand what you problem is with my Peacock Butterfly photo...
Anyway, really needing a coder. There must be a coder on these forums, infact I know there is. Pay for this btw.

Invent, I can discuss the price with the coder. Any coders send me a PM so we can discuss more.
Straightup, I did take all those pictures. I still have the original photos on my card, infact I have 600 pics on my card and just bought another 2GB. May I ask why you think I did not take any of them?

Sorry, I am not willing to pay that sort of money. And like I said, I do have an image system in place in which a coder can copy for the new site.
Straight, I am serious. If you think I did not make it, I wanna know why. It is feedback :)

Not bad. Good luck with the portfolio. I'm not sure, i think someone has said this. But it looks more of a buisiness than an online portfolio.

How do you know that it is more of a business?
I think a few people have got misled. I am NOT speaking about Splurstudios. Splurstudios is my current site which I am closing. I am starting a portfolio of my photography and design - think of it as a database. I have the design on my computer which has not been released.
I am currently looking for a coder who can code my template and make the site, however they can use bits of code from the current www.splurstudios.com (http://www.splurstudios.com) if needs be ;)
EDIT: Lets put it this way, I paid £5 for www.splurstudios.com which isn't bad, because I can keep using the code now.

Excuse me, how rude. To be really honest I do not need a job as my dad pays for everything I want/need.
Back on topic, I am away from 5am-9pm on Saturday so I really do need someone to complete this project tonight. PM me if interested so I can give further contact details. Design is all ready to be sent in PSD format.

I do not need that. I just need someone to code the template, turn it all into a site and copy the code from splurstudios.com
On the scale of coding, its a pretty easy job.

I am not a coder, however I know this is an easy job for coders...compared to other projects I have seen. Also the amount of income I make affects how much money I put into a project ;)
Anyway, £10 for someone to do this job. Quick, easy money.
EDIT: iTech, the design will be good and the overall theme, however for the displaying images it only needs to be a simple upload via FTP and install Lightbox for people to view the images.

I just hope you do know that professionals ask arround £900 - £1.000,- for the most basic websites ?
And the more advanced you go the higher the prize.
I mean, I know a design company's who charge €13.000 (£9000+) and up for a fully custom made site.
To be honest with you.. £5-£10 = nothing. (not even for a basic site you want)
Even I have projects of £900 to £1.500 per site.
And I'm only starting...

PM sent to you Jae.
Oli, I am aware that lots of companys charge thousands of pounds, however I am not looking to spend that money. I also sell my designs for cheap prices, because the cheaper the price the more customers you get.
So what exactly are you paying £5-£10 for? A coded layout or uncoded?
