My laptop was broken so I had to use my PC to do my TemplateNation project,
And so far ALL of the coding I've done was done in notepad which works fine too :)

PHP Editor 5
(it's free)
Very good for web design.
(does html, css, js, php all the stuff DW does)

I only use DreamWeaver when I'm actually designing. It's such a resource hog!
