mySpot - Design idea #1

Hi,

I didn't really want to post this so early, but I must as I want to atleast get the frontend of the site coded by 2008.

So yeah, this is my first design concept for my new website called 'mySpot'.

I tried to make it quite light to make the site nice and fun.

So what are your views/comments (/10?) on the layout.

maybe continue the layout to include footer, it looks like a guillotine has missed the bottom.

+ are u using ajax search? Cos search submit button is missing :S

Few tips;


- The buttons look a little plain, try jazzing them up a bit.

- I don't know if it's just me but anyway the banner type thing looks a little doggy, the text doesn't look too nice and the logo is a very poor quality, unless it's just the preview.

- Maybe change the outer glow of the main content box so it's a tiny bit lighter

I would agree about the buttons. They do seem a bit stuck on up there. And I find buttons to the left to be odd... but that's just me :)

I'm going to move around the buttons and see where I like them.
Also, the image quality is low so that might be why the logo looks weird ;)

It's not exactly a social networking site..it's just a place where you can go to mess around, lol.

I don't like the drop-shadows in the input fields. Especially on the login button. The vertical pink search text looks tacky imo. The content in the contact box isn't aligned as the other two boxes. I don't like the gradient at the top, I wouldn't have one at all. Infact, I don't know if you even need that bar - if you can locate the search field somewhere else. ADDED: What's the symbol on the logo got to do with copy and pasting?

I love the font used in the description and the background.

The gradient looks v.bad on that image, it looks nicer in the real thing/on a better quality image.
