Christmas isn't Christmas without the British weather :'s
Some of my family members who emigrated to Australia hate Christmas time because they miss the cold weather and they feel having a barbeque on the beach isn't the same as having some snow

i've done a hot christmas, wasn't keen on it because it just wasn't 'christmas-y' and i've done away from home in cold places which i didn't mind because we stayed somewhere really nice but if i had to choose i would probably choose a home christmas.

I prefer it in Scotland. I go to my dads in Russia one year, then my mums the next year, but that's stopped so it's just my mums now. >.<

It is better home with all your extended family and such, means nothing when you leave with your nucleated family only few of you it'll be boring. Unless you bring all your family there :P

Some years I'm at home at Christmas, other years we're in Salzburg in Austria, it feels christmassy in Salzburg because of the markets and festivals and it's always a white christmas there :D

I wouldn't like being away, being with family + friends = much better. Especially if where we went was a hot country, because hot weather around Christmas time would suck, weather really helps me.. "get in the spirit".

Christmas isn't the same away from home beacuse it's quite likely you'd end up somewhere hot and everyone dreams of a white christmas :eusa_danc

Instead of going to a hot country and dreaming of a white christmas, goto a cold country like austria or switzerland and see it snow. :P
