Seriously? I thought most of the money made from habbox would just go into hosting and stuff and all the staffs work would be because they wanted to help and stuff.

Assistant Managers, Managers, General Managers, Admins and (I think) Super Moderators get paid. Not too sure on the last one, might be missing a job or two aswell. Thats how it was when I was a manager anyway.
Managers got like £1 or £2 a month and General Managers got like £6 a month. :P

It's something to do, Quite a nice little thing to be doing aswell. Generally alot of "Internet work" is volunteerary, I'm sure most staff didn't sign up to be payed it's just something we enjoy doing. The fact that management / higher staff get payed is just a nice little bonus I'm sure :).

Habbox has a lot of staff. If they gave VIP or 1pound to everyone they'd loose a lot of money. When I was a manager I had the option of 1 month VIP or 1pound. I took the VIP because I didnt have much use for the money. So you can get VIP. The rest of the money made by the sites would go to paying for hosting services. This costs a lot as there are quite a few sites relying on it.
To be honest with all the extra tasks you do and responsibilities you have as a manager or higher the little payment is a nice little bonus.
Super Mods do get paid - or they did when I was a Super Moderator. £1 a month.
They didn't when I was a Super Moderator. They had a thread but it disappeared after a while... Although £1 a month was hardly very appealing to me anyway, so I really didn't care. I didn't moderate for money.

From what TomLegend told me, the income from Habbox Ads and Habbox VIP barely pays for the server costs, which are in excess of £250 per month. So very little, if anything, is made from Habbox.

How on earth would it that much? I did notice that the radio caters for 400 listeners which seems very excessive - quite a few are just people clicking on the .com home page and in any event they get nowhere near that many. Costs could be trimmed I would think. Anyway I don't personally think it is our business to ask - its Sierk's personal information.

When I worked here, Sierk was still having to pay his own money towards running it as the income didnt cover the costs.
And he never pocketed any for himself.
So before any of you start accusing him of anything, check the facts and think about how much it actually costs to run a forum and site as big as this.
I never got paid once when I was manager lololol.

To be fair Jack I don't think anybody is accusing him of anything but it's his own personal business and not really anything to do with us as I see it. :)

Then again I wouldn't want to be paid for what I do, I do it because I enjoy it and I worked hard to get to this position through volunteer work.

I glanced at the payment thread in the staff forums but haven't bothered claiming anything, I don't have any form of internet-money account and I quite like my maroon staff username :P But I know its there if I want it, and am very grateful for the opportunity. To the person who said "its only £1," I signed up the job originally on the premise that it was voluntary, so anything is far better than nothing!

Nothing , Habbox+HabboxForum costs too much to run to make money out of it.
Anyway £1 is actually more than enough seeing as not many sites pay their staff let alone Habbo related one , All the money will be comming out of sierk's pockets and I doubt anyone actually applied for a job so they could make some money out of it.

Sierk never started this site to make a profit. Sierk has pumped his own money into this site for several years, and i have to agree with Catzsy, it is Sierks personal business, but suffice to say if staff were to be paid, then the money would come out of Sierks pocket, if the site makes financial gain i am sure Sierk will put the money to good use, whether he gives staff a treat or makes improvements, but trust me he does not have this site for any financial gain!
Anything i got offered when i was staff here i declined! I did not do the jobs that i did for gain either!

The first few years I had to pay every month for the host etc, but I never minded that as I have a job, and see Habbox as a hobby. Now we make a bit of profit every month, mostly from the google ads. Since I have a job I don't really need the extra money at the moment, so I keep it in the Habbox paypal account.

I don't think that's the right question to ask. The question is how much has he lost to Habbox ;)
Sierk never takes the money out to pay for himself, he's paid out of his pocket before. Honestly, none of us would mind if he did, because he really does deserve that much, but he never does. I can personally confirm that :P
As for the managers payments, for those who say "its pathetic", its obviously not as a paid job. Its just a little thank you. Its the equivalent of working at a fundraiser and getting a little goody-bag with candy in it for your help. Nobody works here for the cash.
Oh and super moderators and administrators don't get paid. There was something in place a loong time ago to give SMods 1 pound a month and admins two pounds a month (I believe it was when Baving was here) but that never came through, and if it did, it wasn't for more than one month.

according to dnscoop.com the habbox.com site is worth $193,593 and habboxforum.com is worth $4,241 these may not be entirely acurate but they give you an idea of the worth of the sites and of how much money is likely to be passing through.

How much would Habbox have in it's Paypal account!?
That would depend on if its just before or just after the bills are paid each month ;)
Over the past few years when Habbox has had some spare cash build up there has been a donation to charity :o
I am sure the last 2 or 3 xmas's Habbox donated all of Decembers VIP money to a chosen charity (It was a registered charity last year if I recall and not a fund Sierk's Xmas charity). This might happen this year but I guess it depends on the state of the Habbox Finances and what bills need paying.
I am not sure the reason for charity donations but but Sierk could have kept all the money for himself with no questions asked.
This could be just to give something back or it could be a tax reasons but that is sierks business.
Its not good idea to make a profit without informing the tax man and also think of those massive forms they expect filling in.
If you look in the 'Habbox' part of the navigator on www.habbox.com (http://www.habbox.com) you can see the charity donation or follow the link below.
http://www.habbox.com/site/content/view/1590/213/
Habbox has been through some Great times but also some difficult ones in the past over certain issues :o Sierk has always done what he believed was right and will continue to do so.
In my opinion if Habbo followed Habbox's example of how to deal with things they would have a lot more respect.

So basically he doesn't actually make a profit, or if he does, he doesn't use it for himself, he uses it to keep all the sites goingm, and make them better.
To all those people that says sierk loses more than he makes, then why does he carry on to keep all his sites he own?

The site pays for itself at the minute I think but Sierk would put more money in to make up for anything that could not be paid for by income fom VIP and Google ads.
The big question is has he put more in than hes got out? and quite clearly he has put more in :)
To all those people that says sierk loses more than he makes, then why does he carry on to keep all his sites he own?
In the beginning Sierk paid for everything out of his own pocket.
I remember he was unsure about the risk in buying a VB and if it would be worth it. In the end I purchased the VB and domain habboxforum.com and became forum owner before agreeing a nominal fee to pass it over to Sierk, I dont want to disclose the fee he paid but that came out of his own pocket and it was a bit more than a VB license.
Back then the only VB habbo forum was HF but after how well HxF and HF were performing everybody rushed to get one.
I am not sure if Sierk is in profit or not from what he has spent on Habbox over the years but I doubt he is but only buying checking 4 years worth of ins and outs he would know. There is enough money to keep site running without him paying out his own pocket then its great news.
