Yeah, I admit we have been **** and been playing with no passion what so ever. But to say we don't deserve to qualify just shows up what a **** you really are. We have scored more points than the other teams below us, and could end up on more points than Croatia if we win them. So how don't we deserve to qualify? Maybe you should stick to fighting your neighbours in the future instead of making silly comments.

Its hardly a silly comment, when in fact its my opinion and just because it contrasts with yours you have to be a typical little immature kid and try and start an argument, the english players with maybe the exception of bentley and barry are all extremely overrated and that idiot of a manager should be in the championship. Seriously who flies to america to watch a charity match to try and deem if a player is on top of his game for a major international match?

Thats like watching a testimonial where someone like bergkamp could be playing and thinking yeah ill sign him for another year, stuff his retirement. England just simply arent a good enough team anymore to compete in major finals, and even if they do qualify they will end up flat on their faces again.

What do you mean? Not one of us have even mentioned us being 'world beaters'. Of course we need to improve, like I said up there, we're playing with no passion under Mclaren... and in a way, I wouldn't have minded that much if we didn't qualify as it would mean the sack for Mclaren, and in the long-run, it would drastically improve the state of football in this country.

But to say we don't deserve to go through is a load of ********, if we win or draw against Croatia, we will have scored until points to go through to the finals in Swizterland/Austria - Thus deserving to go through.

Cypher-
18-11-2007, 06:59 PM
Dont confuse the state of football in england with the performance's of the nation team because they aren nowhere alike! The top four clubs in england are probably the most recognised names in europe and currently play the best football, thats constantly why theres four teams in the leading club competition along with rangers and celtic.

England rely on their past history to justify why they should compete in major competitions, to be fair in that friendly against austria, they struggled, they lost a key player since rooney was already out and the goal was scored by a player that doesnt belong in the international scene, if he wasnt that height he wouldnt score any. The way da silva is playing at the moment, croatia will take all 3.

Cypher-

Im not irish you silly child, im Northern irish thus making me british. What do you mean how our team does? We are in the exact same position as England :s Our striker is the leading european goalscorer now breaking suker's goal. Sorry but I dont think that beating England spain sweden etc isnt too bad for a country of 1 million where most of our players play in the championship and league 1.

There goes the typical boastful attitude of english people, no wonder your country has gone to the dogs and extremists are bombing it, england is the little brother of america.

No i dont boast because in all my 19 years of being alive I have never seen norn iron playing so well, I just want it to last and when we get somewhere then I will celebrate, as far as Im concerned northern ireland have done our tiny country proud and i know every player tries his hardest to play and thats all we ask for.

Yeha they could do well but need to scrap alot of players and tbh I think their ideal manager would of been big sam allardyce or paul jewell, both have great qualities and believe in the grassroots approach.

Dunno about forming a UK team to be honest I doubt any if not none of the northern ireland team would get into it, maybe a small chance of healy but football makes us proud and i think our country like scotland and wales and england would rather have their own, dunno?

Yeh the UK team probably wouldn't go down with many people.

Yeh, mclaren wasn't the ideal manager, i thought he would of done better though tbh.

Cypher-

I could see this is an ideal team to be fair to everyone:

GK - Ben Foster
RB - Alan Hutton
CB - Micah Richards
CB - John Terry
LB - Wayne Bridge
RW - Jason Koumas
CM - Steven Gerrard
CM - Barry Ferguson
LW - Chris Brunt
ST - David Healy
ST - James McFadden

That would be my team at the moment if the UK had a team from all countries of our kingdom.

God im sorry but i base players on performance's not their club or salary, and since Healy is the leading european goalscorer of the competiton with 13 goals and has scored 33 times in 61 games for his country (best stats in the uk for a striker) thats why he has been chosen, just dont whine because he isnt english.

And thank god we have seperate countries, if i had to put up with the incessant nonsense that the english spill out over their football team I would immigrate.

Dont want england to go through, Had tons of english people attempt to rip scotland for losing to italy and doing the whole haggis bagpipe thing so yea >.>

Its funny how english people were rooting for scotland to win because england thought they were going out. and because scotland lost and england managed to scrape through by isreal winning everyones now started the whole "we're better than you" so yea.. my reasons for you wanting to lose, i know not all english people are like that ands thats the general people i actually like.. but the people who just claim england are better than scotland at everything and have to resort to sterotypical assumptions tends to be the reason i hate england. Hopefully england get knocked out and I dont have to put up with this "we are better than you" and the constant jibs that we lost to italy.

* Waits for some 12 year old to tell me to take of my skirt off*

And about the UK team, Wouldnt work. if certain players kept coming up or the were more english players than irish players then people would start to claim favourism.

dont be stupid, some players obviously perform better for their country than at club level and vice versa, healy and george best are two examples. healy is great for his country but not so good for his club having only scored 4 but he has netted 33 in 61 for country and bestie was the other way around.

If we qualify then of course we deserve it :o we might have been lucky with the israil/russia game but the 2 teams with the most points deserve to go through to the finals.

I agree we rarely play with heart :( with the players we have we should have other teams really worried at the thought of playing us but under mclaren and Sven after we beat germany we rarely look a good team.

I support england and believe that Mclaren is the wrong man for the job :o I was all for Martin O'neil (Leicester connection) as he is a great man motivator and shows passion.
I like a manager with attitude like José Mourinho, it rubs off on the team and gets them much more passionate and the siege mentallity he creates gets all the players united.
I hope we qualify but would love mclaren to be fired but it looks like it wont happen just yet.

To be honest they were on about the Home nations tournament if none of the home nations make it and I would much prefer that to the european championships :o I love the world cup but I never really get in to the euros.

I hear more more english people be critical about the manager and team than run around shouting how good we actually are but you could have a valid point if you said in the past.
I and almost every other english person i know get behind any home nation team whoever they play unless they play england and I wish the other home nations people would do the same.

Lol at that quote above, its just ridiculous. At the end of the day, the 2 teams who have the most points DESERVE to qualify, simple as. So you're telling me that if China and Brazil were battling it out for qualification, and China edged it on goals scored? Oh well, they still qualified, hence they deserved it. Russia don't deserve it, as they blew their chance, when their striker hit the woodwork in the last minute, and Israel went down and scored. Good old ISRAEL. Come on England, 2008 here we come :)

Let me rephrase it ;)

Apart from maybe 5 players, I dont believe the England team at the minute is really deserving to play in that England squad, Is it just me or is it not that in football when you repeatedly have bad games, you make way for someone better to come in and then you train harder to regain your place?

McClaren picks solely on big names, thats why he brought back Beckham who lets face it no longer faces strong enough competition to be able to remain good enough to compete with europes elite.

I don't think so. Germany have already qualified so will want to play their fringe players. May be hard considering most of our players are under-21 - who beat France 4-2 tonight.

Ye, I heard of David Edwards. He came on for Carl Robinson in the first half on Saturday. He should play tomorrow because Koumas, Robinson and maybe Fletcher are injured or suspended. We have lots of injuries and one suspension.

If we play like we played on Saturday we'll give the Germans one hell of a fright. Gotta exploit Jens Lehmann. There's just two problems - Ricketts and Nyatanga. Toshack will play Nyatanga at right-back instead of Eardley, who played well on Saturday and Ricketts in midfield, for Koumas. I just don't think they are good enough.
