It's a bit too bright and you need to add more to it, imo.
Nice try for a new guy. =]

Ahh yes, it's very hard with paint. I suggest something more sophisticated like Paint Shop Pro.
There are many other programs that can help you with effects and things, I'm sure the other pixel artists with post them in here for you to get a better idea. =]

Good try but I think you should start with alting smaller things eg a normal habbo or something. This helps ya build up your skills and techniques and stuff. And I use paint so its not to bad :P

Paints one of the easiest programs you could ever use. I dont know how you can think its hard...
pretty basic, and on the green thing, i see alot of white pixels on the black lines (may be my eyesight).
Try using photoshop, It's a good program, paint is easy to use for basic drawings, and for recolourings. also try to avoid using websites, because if your internet goes bust, you have nothing to do on your computer, well, when my internet stops, i find alot of time to do some drawings, it keeps me occupied.... :P
good for first, try something more complex next time.

That depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to do more sophisticated alts with effects, making copying and pasting, texture and MUCH easier then it's better to do with something else like Paint Shop Pro for example (I know there are many other programs out there, I'm just pointing out one). Yes, it's a basic program when you only want to do basic alts with it but I presume from what Crocadillian has said, he is after a different program that will help him with creating more sophisticated alterations in a much easier and less time consuming way.
