Pfft. I download tonnes of stuff + game saves are huge.

If you want to store movies, music etc.. go with the 60GB

Also, 40Gb is not backwards compatible with PS2 games and has no ethernet port

No ethernet port? So no wired internet connection for it?

You don't need the ethernet port.. it has built in wifi.

Which is alot of good if you actually have a wifi adapter and I prefer wired connections, I'll just have to try for a 60Gb

We have absolutly tons here, they are never out of stock in Stevenage because alot of the people living here are on a fairly low budget xD
People that have money either don't play games or play other consoles, there is probably only like 300ish PS3 owners in the whole town and there is thousands of people here, so I'm prob ok for a few months :P

The 40GB PS3 is not backwards compatible.
That means you cannot play PS2 games, which I really don't understand. Also, there are only 2 USB lots instead of 4 and only one memory slot.

I don't mind it not being backwards compatible, I never play PS2 games xD

I didn't say you lag, I said it slows down the connection and that is a fact

I got 60Gb on release day for £425. Glad I did really because I need my 4 USB ports and backwards compatibility. Not fussed about no ethernet port, as Im wireless anyway.

And to be honast, PSN isn't neally as bad as its made out to be. Theres loads of downloadable content [especially for Motorstorm], theres plenty of people online and Ive never had any problems lagging. Only thing that does bug me with PS3, is no in-game XMB, thats annoying, especially if you get a message. Can't wait for Home :)

A 60 or 40?

60 if the 40 doesn't have ethernet

How important are all the USB ports?

40GB has Ethernet

PS3 is the most advanced computer system that serves as a platform to enjoy next generation computer entertainment contents in the home, realised through the combination of Cell and RSX processors.
Having Giga-bit Ethernet and a pre-installed hard disk drive (HDD) as standard in PS3, users will be able to download a variety of contents as well as access on-line games and services over the network.
Equipped with basic input/output ports, PS3 supports a broad range of displays from conventional NTSC/PAL standard TVs to the latest full HD (1080i/1080p) flat panel displays, offering the joy of the most advanced computer entertainment contents to homes around the world. For use in living rooms, maximum heat and noise reduction has been achieved with a noise level equivalent to that of the current slim-line PlayStation 2.
With the overwhelming computational power of the Cell processor, PS3 is capable of playing back content from Blu-ray (BD) disc at a bit rate of multiplex 48Mbps with ease, the maximum bit rate defined in BD standards.

Hang on, I'm just gonna double check that 40GB has a Ethernet input.

Nice, a bit bad about the memory stick thing though but oh well, I'll talk to my mum about that, she might get me a PS3 instead of a Wii for christmas, maybe I can find one bundled with motorstorm xD

You can just connect your psp/camera via a usb port instead of putting the memory stick directly into it xo
