Just wondering how many people take care to keep their music system organised?

I was organising my music (such as adding year, track numbers etc) in iTunes and someone said it was a bit obsessive, but I like it organised.

Do you take pride in your iTunes or just leave it how it is when you get it?

Im very organised when it comes to files. I have folders, with folders inside them, with folders inside them, with even more folders inside them :P

I only really sort out the names of songs, albums and artists because that's all that you can see in my iTunes.

I don't use iTunes but I do have (most) of my music folder organised by artist, then if I have enough songs to be worth it I have albums within the folders. The only songs not organised are the ones I don't know the artist for.

Files I am a bit sloppy, but every so often I will organise it, I let iTunes organise my Music Folder :P

I hate it when my music in iTunes is unorganised.

I make playlists + **** aswell now, I never used to.

On iTunes, I make sure the name, artist and album are all there and ever so often I'll make sure that the album artwork is there, but it's really rare that I'll add the ones that aren't there. But, things like genre, year and stuff like that, I'm not that fussed about because it doesn't effect it when I see it on my iPod, whereas, if the album is missing, it doesn't show up sometimes.

As for my other folders, I tend to let them just get messy or whatever, and then I'll have a sort out, trying to move them around and delete what I don't need. But, I rarely empty my recycle bin so it doesn't make much difference space wise. :P

I used to be obsessive with keeping it organised, the only thing I didn't keep up to date was genre, I still find it hard to give things a genre these days too

i try to keep mine organised. it's alot easier then if i have to back it up or whatever. i dont bother about year or things like that, but i make sure the artist and album and song names are proper

I only have full albums, so I have one album in each folder named "Artist - Album name". I resize a copy of the front cover to 200 width and name it folder.jpg. I view the folders in thumbnail view so I can see the folder.jpg image. I then make sure it is all tagged up correctly - title is correctly capitalised etc. I then make sure that multiple artists in the artist tag are separated by a semi-colon.

May seem a bit eccentric, but when you have 75GB of music it really helps if it's well organised.

I download albums. So the albums, artists and song names are already done but I put the album art in.
