I don't think he should of been sacked just because England didn't get throw to Euro 2008.

I hate how the english FA are so quick to sack managers, it happens all the time in the premiership, it was his first forray into international managing of which he had very limited international experience and to be fair the performance's of your so called "Superstars" didnt help him out either, so much for being called three lions.

One of the biggest problems with the England team is that not enough of them play together regularly. A few years back it used to be that Man U had a pretty decent amount of England footballers in the squad, so they all played together and knew each other's plays etc., and that's not really the case for any team any more. Chelsea have a few now like Cole, Lampard, Terry, but frankly Lampard plays ten times better for Chelsea than for England and there still aren't enough of them getting on within the squad.
I agree that McClaren should have been sacked because the entire sum of his tactics seemed to be to rely on Beckham to boost team morale, and also agree that José should be the next England manager if we can get him.

Gerrard and Barry in CM imo. Heskey and Owen/Rooney upfront!

I don't think anyone realised how good we had it with Sven.

Jose for England!

Sir Alex Ferguson would be wonderful if he was ever to leave Manchester. You can't deny his success rate really.

Ian Holloway for England manager! He'd definitely be the most entertaining manager we'd have.

I always thought Sven was a good manager, I wanted England to lose last night to rid of us of this Steve.

Although the players had a shocking Euro 2008 especially that first half performace last night McClaren had to go. England have the right to expect to qualify for every major championships and any manager who fails to deliver that for the nation has to go. A lot of people weren't entirely happy with his appointment in the first place. It would be nice to see Mourinho get the job but it looks like he's ruled himself out of the running. I have a feeling the FA are going to opt for a foreign manager this time and my money is on one of these three Lippe, Scolari or Capello. Whoever it is I hope they get those players playing the football we know they're capable of.

I was well annoyed when he left Argyle, some kid was insisting earlier that he left because he knew McClaren was going to be fired and that he was getting the England job, haha.

Yeah Sven wasn't bad. The only positive from last nights match is McLarrens sacking :)
