Hey.
I have set up bank account funding on paypal and have confirmed my account and done everything possible.
However, any time I try to send money it forces me to send it as an "echeque" which takes 9 days to clear and just isn't good enough.
Why is it doing this as it used to allow me just to pay for things straight from my bank account?
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks

So is papal basically a heap of crap now?
You can't send money direct from your bank account unless you send it via echeque which takes a week?

What I did once was payed for something, I had £0 in PayPal but a credit card hooked up then payed for the thing. Then it did it straight from the credit card, I'm sure it still does it, it did a week or so ago. :S Like it will say.
item £100
paypal funds £10
Pay with paypal funds and £90 from card.
Then you pay and voila.

I know that - that isn't the problem.
The issue is that when I try to do this it says I have to pay via "eqcheque" which takes 9 days to clear and isn't good enough.
I'm quite annoyed tbh, as I had to set up another bank account and everything with my paypal account and it still isn't working.

It isn't supposed to if you have your bank account all verified - it is supposed to take the money and pay it immediately.
It takes longer if you are wanting to add funds or something to the account.

i hope someone finds a way around this coz its really annoying me now too
i have my debit card added so it pays instantly.. however with just a bank account added, it needs to transfer funds from your bank to your PayPal then to the recipient if you get me :l
It has to authorise it and everything.
itll always be like that. *yay*

yer but for some reason its doing this echeque thing which takes 9 days as opposed to coming from your bank account which takes like a minute
I thought I had a debit... lol :S

Nope.
I only use my debit card with it because its annoying to wait for it.
its like that for everyone who uses the bank for it.
Solution:
Add card OR
Transfer £100 or so from your bank, and just top up it every now and then so you can pay instantly.

Someone told me it is because my account isn't verified.
It says next to my email "Account Unverified - (5)" So he said I need to do everything that isn't scored out on the list.
The only thing that isn't scored out is "Add business information" - but I don't have a business. Lol
He said there is a way to change it so that it doesn't ask you that...
im 100% verified though..

I looked through the paypal / ebay members section about echeques.
It seems if you dont have a card attached to your paypal account it does this. Basically I guess it takes 9 days for paypal to check theres enough money, whereas if you have a card attached it takes the money and if you go overdrawn thats your problem.
Like the person above me said, the only way to stop it doing this is to fund your paypal or attach a card.

I have attached a card though... :S
And I have definitely paid this way before without the whole echeque crap

I dunno, depends on your bank account I guess, Im with Natwest and it lets me do whatever I like, even before I had an overdraft, cos they just charge you if you go overdrawn,
why dont you ask your bank for details about your account, there might be an anti-over draft clause or something...
if your bank specifically refuses to let your type of account go overdrawn even like a penny, paypal would have to spend the same amount of time checking theres money in your bank account as it would in your paypal?

If I were to add another card :@... say a credit card or something - is it going to take like another 7 days or something to sort?
is the card your primary paying method?
sure its still valid etc?
Whos your Bank?
edit: I payed for habbox vip literally 10 seconds after adding a card lol:]

Right I added another debit card there...
Now I am trying to pay and it is letting me pay via "debit/credit card" but not by "instant bank funding" or something...
How do I go about letting it let me use instant bank funding?
Calisse
23-11-2007, 04:49 PM
if its letting you pay via your card isnt that instant? I think 'instant bank funding' would be if your paypal had funding, where it would go, okay BAM from paypal 1 (you) to paypal 2 (them). Thats instant.
Whereas atm its okay BAM account > paypal1 (you) to paypal 2 (them).
is it instant what its letting you do right now?

So if I pay via "Credit/Debit card" (the one I just set up) it will provide the same affect where they will immediately receive the money and it will be taken off my account? Or will it just be taken off my account at the end of the month or something?
It lets me pay via 'Instant Bank Funding' using my mums debit card though... :S
instant bank funding is the one that takes ages!! Use your dc
