Halo 3 Help [+rep]

i just got my xbox and just started halo 3 today but i cant seem to fiqure it out on solo how do i get to the places the missions tell me to go to is there a map or do i follow someone or something how do i find these places

eg:
missian objectives

get to the rvier for evac

You just go straight and left and right basically - there is usually a path?

Well you go towards the bad guys, whats basicly the only way you can go, unless you go backwards, but that wouldn't be the right way.

If I could be asked buying live again I would help you but I only used it for a week last month when I got it, and about 3 times after that so I'm going to think I'll give it a miss for a few months.

On the first mission you follow the guys on your team really for a while and then you just figure out which way to go by exploring and by using the map. Don't worry, it will get a lot easier the more times you play it and searching the paths will come naturally to you :)
