I don't want to seem a know it all but does anyone actually know the difference between these? People seem to mis-use them so much and it kinda bugs me (how pathetic am I? lol)

Assault - Threatening Behaviour, Intimidating someone, shouting at someone e.g. Prank Calls, threats, cornering someone to scare them etc.

Battery (normally with assault) - Mild Physical Attack e.g. punch, kick, choke, push, shove etc.

ABH - More than just a punch or kick e.g. several punches, gang of attackers kicking etc.

GBH/Wounding (same thing) - For it to count as wounding the skin must be broken and at least one drop of blood must exit the wound. For GBH it must consist of really serious harm or permanent damage e.g. stab wound, internal bleeding, broken bones (except nose), brain damage etc.

well technicly it depedns where you come from, athogh it is true most people think of assult in the austrailn deffintion, aka of the actal attack rather than the threatening "/

Oh yeah, sorry if I caused any confusion. That is just in British law.
