This is quite serious so i dont take kindly to people flaming Emo's. D that in your own sad time.

If anyone has read this weeks "Kerrang" (issue no 1186) they may have noticed the "Letter Of The Week" contained a matter of a girl named Becca being beaten up on the way home from school. The only reason that they gave was "You ******* Emo scum". I just thought that people who would be classed one of the Emo clique in the Norwich area such as myself.

People cutting themselves and crying all the time because theyre life is so tragic (omg my mom wont buy me an iphone because ive got an ipod) is messed up.. because people with real problems, bipolar disorder, manic depression, they get refused help because theyre at the age where their peers are making that stuff up.


By crying over unimportant crap you are stopping people who need help from getting it.

everyone who argues this stuff needs to read the book "the chocolate war." one of the best lessons i've ever gotten from a book. you can be yourself and go against the current, but you'll have to deal with the consequences. there's no way around that. you can't expect people to just accept you. if you want to do something others don't do, that's sweet, but be prepared for ramifications.

The "Emo" kids in my school are so sarcastic, i try to be nice to them and they just feel that people don't ever change, and hate me for no reason.

I'm sorry to any "Emo's" but they really do no favour for themselves. The disrupt lessons, they start rumours about people and think they're the most funny and sarcastic thing to walk the planet.

As far as Scene kids go, they ARE the most funny thing, they just don't care what people think and they are nothing like "emo" kids. Scene people are nice to everyone unless they really don't like you.

"Chavs" can be crude and very rude, this may be because they are uncomfortable with themselves. They are the only people who ever call me "Gay" - even though they know i'm not, and secretly i believe they are gay themselves so lately i've just been saying "Pfft.. you wish" and walking off. Chavs think they are funny and only get other chavs/"Gangstas" to laugh when none of them think it's funny anyway.

I really dislike labelling people, yet anyone who says "oh i don't label people" is lying, because everyone is something, no matter how you look at it. Often people go by music and looks, yet I listen to things like Hadouken, Glamour for better, Dizzee rascal, The Fray, Timbaland & Souljah boy. A huge mix, and I just dress in a t-shirt, often with writing on it, and some jeans. People don't really see me as anything but i try to fit in with certain groups at certain times. I don't have any "best" friends, but i do have alot of close friends as i often drift between groups and crowds. I'm not the most popular person in school, but I am friends with alot of people from all years.

I hope this insight helped clear things up with people and "labels" and my thoughts on a few of them.

To be honest, the regular stereotype emo who is always depressed is annoying, and I personally think a good slap and a point in the right direction would help them. 'Emos' are targetted by people because they are different to the majority of teenagers today. They dress differently, listen to different music and sometimes act differently, so people pick up on that and feel the need to take the ****.

The age group that they're associated is also that of many immature kids... making fun of people is in their nature. Let's be honest, 'Emos' arn't exactly trying to act and dress like your average teen - they are a minority.

I think that "Emo" is another label out there, I don't like labels so I just consider everyone unique, original, people who are against "emo" are just against them for what "emo" people do. I agree. There are many other people with much worse situations who don't cut themselves. There are many other ways to deal with problems & situations. Killing yourself doesn't solve the problem, it makes it worse. & by being emo, you're setting a bad example for other younger children. They will see you cutting yourself & think it's okay for them to do it.

Okay. Emo's can be grown ups, little kids, anyone. Most emo's are happy? I have a lot of emo's at my school who are depressed & yes, at times, they are happy, but the littlest thing can trigger them into cutting themselves. I have a friend who did, & because a boy didn't like her, she sat in the back of class cutting herself. Now that's damaging to society.

I agree. But I think some emo's do have problems but a lot of times, it's nothing big. Like the boy down the road from me doesn't like me, so I go cut myself. I think that's dumb. I'm not saying that's the reason all emo's cut, I'm just giving an example.

Ok to be honest why does it matter people get called emo all the time, ok so i feel sorry for the girl who attacked probably because of the clothes she wears or the music she listens too, but for crying out loud just dont act as if it annoys you bullies only react to you giving in and showing them that your annoyed or angered by it.
