I think it sounds silly that at the end of every announcement it always says 'enjoy the' whatever.
in the most recent announcement's case, 'enjoy the new name'.
I don't enjoy any name, letalone Mr Lazer's. :8
How do you enjoy names anyway?
:):)

I find the announcements forced, as if we're meant to enjoy it and the person announcing the news finds the announcement to be amazing.

i'd prefer it if there was no announcement at all.
and it wouldn't be worth complaining because i think they have a bad attitude anyway.

Since when do you have to be 'kind' to have good manners?! It would be better not to have 'enjoy the name,' but 'make a note of this name' because that's the whole point of the announcement. Why would we enjoy a name? We wouldn't. But, we may want to jot down or remember the new name, incase we get confused

Simply becuase the title shows whos changed their name and to what. Then what would you put in the post? And it just makes things more polite.

In what way? It just makes the thread creator look crazy. It would be better for announcement to include "Make note of his new name" or just get rid of the announcing of name changes, because I am sure people would recognise them either with a signature comment or a title message.
I didn't say you have to have them.
I didn't question having to have good manners. I was questioning why you must be kind to have good manners, so your comment makes little sense...

Enjoy your new name = enjoy being called by your new name? I cant see a problem with it at all.
If all you have to post about is what nvr puts in his announcements then the forums really are in trouble.

it actually says enjoy the new name, not your, as the announcement is aimed at everyone.
do you not think it sounds slightly strange?

Because if a member of staff gets a name change and no one but the name changer is aware of it this could cause problems.
If they do a specific job around the forum and need to be contacted alot or easily recognised then they are not very helpfull if no one knows who they are.
Say if i got a name change, there would be someone whos going to go ' WHos the new guy in red?? I ent seen im in zeh announcements or anfink'. Then you would have half a thread of people going ' Tis Yoshi' yeah ' Yoshi derr ' and by the end of that you would have an argument becuase someone called the other person a derr becuase they where not sure on who the person was.
And other obvious reasons.

When would an HxHD need to be contacted :S The only time they'll be contact would be by a member of staff, who should know about the name change through the staff forum.
It's like the obvious life line of putting a mention in your signature about your name change has died out and now everyone relies on an announcement which I imagine most people won't even bother to read... And don't by the looks of things, because you still get "where has yoshi gone?" threads made every now and again.

I don't recall saying anything about a HXHD member. I meant different groups of staff in general.
And what would you like us all to do, put our names in our signature just for the sake of not having an announcement.

Well the latest controversy is over the announcement of (can't remember the name) having the name change to leetzgirl or something and in fairness, he is only a HxHD so there is no need for him to have an announcement.
Well the announcements themselves are useless considering they're hard to write. Perhaps a suggestion would be to link to the members profile just so they know who the member is, so the thread isn't just wasted effort for 2 sentences of text. And having the name in your signature would make it easier for people to know who you are, considering the announcements forum is over-looked often until something like this happens. It is afterall a sure way of making whoever wants to contact you know who you are.
Are you really that lazy that you can't say "name change to blah blah?"

Mr lazer to leetzgirl,
That me.
And, it good to tell everyone becasue then you know that the person had a name change, to match with there habbo name, that why i did it :)

Well I don't actually see by having this added to the end of an announcement is hurting anyone. I can see why people think it's 'strange' but at the end of the day it's his decision he's simply telling the person to enjoy the new name, it's something that he wishes to do on the end of his announcement.

You are right there, Danny. In the big scheme of things does it actually matter? The announcements of name changes are good because otherwise one can lose track of the members and not know who they are.

I think it's just the format of Announcements.
In my opinion it should also say the reason we get fired in the Announcement. At least if you post the reason [people can make their own judgement on it and there isn't a thread posted in this forum over every person who gets sacked.
I don't know if it's just me but when I got sacked last week i would of preferred it to say in the Announcement the reason for me being fired, I don't know why and i know a lot of you will disagree with this post because of privacy and all but that's just what I believe lol.

I think he meant that he doesn't know why he'd prefer to have the reason he'd been fired posted in announcements. Rather than he doesn't know why he was fired, if that makes sense.

I did just my inbox was full so I didn't get it but I know Jake sent one. And yea sorry that my point wasn't clear.
I would of preferred a reason to have been provided in the Announcement.

In essence, it is about providing a positive image for habbox. The management needs to be seen as friendly and approachable so people aren't scared (for want of a better word) of us. The format of announcements and tone of other posts on the forums help this. If we make an angry, abusive post on the forums we get a good old rollocking from MAD; that isnt because he enjoys it (well, he might do, I havent asked him!) but because it would damage the image habbox staff try to keep.
For example, in announcements where staff are fired, there is usually a "we thank him/her for his/her time and wish him/her luck in the future", even though they may have been lazy, irresponsible and abusive. It is there anyway to show we are appreciative of any time given by staff to habbox. The "enjoy" the new name runs on the same principle.

I'd like to see you try and be creative with announcements. It's not as easy as it looks, quite frankly. But once you've got a line which fits and sounds good, why should you change it and possibly look a twit?
Synonym for "Enjoy" - Adore?
"Adore the new name"?
"Thanks to them for choosing this name"?
"Be entertained by this new name"?
"Relish this new name"?
"Revel in this new name"?
"Rejoice in their new name?"
lol... how idiotic does that sound?
