View Full Version : Moderation Application

Having turned 18, I figured it'd be worth a try. I just need to knock up a CV and fill in the form with my info. With no experience with regards to moderation online I've not got my hopes up, but it beats sitting around at home of a night doing absolutely nothing.

Just wondering if anybody knew much about the application process, either from applying themselves or through speaking to current moderators.

That is your opinion, it isn't a fact.

How would Sulake know if you have been on habbo if you haven't mentioned it.

What? You really do have no idea what you're talking about, do you Sam?

How else do you expect Sulake to employ moderators? They wouldn't open applications if they don't hire through Sulake.

Also, I'm not sure about the "we don't employ Habbos" thing, I'd of thought it'd mean on a more strictly Habbo based...like Xs are.

I've no idea, but I could pass a few questions onto a moderator.

Ichigo
29-11-2007, 06:36 PM
Nowhere on the application does it request that you have previously used Habbo.

Nor does it ask for your Habbo usernames. An I.P. change and the use of a different name would ensure they wouldn't be able to trace you.

Even so, those FAQ pages haven't been updated in years. It could be that they've changed their recruitment process.

well of course mods would of had to of visited habbo befor applying,
you wouldnt apply for a job without knowing what it is or what it did, would you? They would of had to visited the site in one point in their life befor getting the job.

Samm what are you on about? Are you sure he didn't say he personally didn't have to apply seen as he was a Hobba or whatever?

I've never seen you ask this at all, I presume you mean on URSpeech.

Why else would it have an application form on Sulake.com...sheesh.

I've no idea, but I could pass a few questions onto a moderator. On jobs sites, which is where most people get jobs these days, and probably how most the Sulake staff applied from. Since I doubt you'd fall across Sulake easily unless you where something to do with Habbo.

They put job openings on job websites like http://www.monster.com/ - You've probably seen adverts for job sites.

jesus
29-11-2007, 06:42 PM

Sulake do say that, but i think they mean they dont employ habbos who havnt filled in a cv and are just asking for a job over the CFH or something like that

Ailerons
29-11-2007, 06:46 PM
I think they employ habbos that aren't that well known to other habbos.

Well you think wrong. That's why there's moderator applications on the Sulake website, which I believe has been mentioned loads of times before.

The Habbo's status is, and should always be regardless of whether they will get the job or not.

Sam said that because Ste got offered the position, that Sulake does NOT recruit through their website which is clearly false seen as they have moderator applications on their website!

Well Ste told me you won't get picked if you apply.

Look, it's not hard Sam:

Ste, and a few other decent Hobbas got picked to become full moderators. Sulake still has the application forms on their website, so yes you can apply through the Sulake website. He either meant you personally because you're not mature enough, or he meant Habbos in general.

What on earth are you on about?

Anyone can apply to be a moderator and it's Habbo's Sulakes choice.
They will hire moderators who are good and full of experience.

Downfall, you are still wrong. You don't understand what they mean by they don't recruit Habbos. They say this because:

1. Most Habbos are under the age of 18
2. They have no experience with work
3. They don't recruit from the Habbo site. (Excluding previous Hobbas) They recruit from the Sulake site.

Habbos who have played will rarely get asked for the job, but it does happen.

If you don't mention you have played Habbo, they will not know.

Ichigo
29-11-2007, 06:55 PM
After reading this, it does seem plausible that they would not accept an application from a Habbo - mainly for the reason that most'd obviously use such power for personal gain etc. etc.

That part makes sense. That they haven't mentioned that is what they don't want on the application leaves doubt in my mind.

I guess all I can do is apply.

Moderators don't play Habbo for fun, its a job. They hardly need any training to roam about on a Habbo site, they are adults not young children.

They are trained with moderation tools and how to deal with customers. Most people who apply have that experience with dealing with customers.

I do not need forum moderation to close my thread for me. The topic is still open and other people who have not provided an input should be allowed the chance to give an opinion.

Don't be so rude.
