This is the first time me and my freind have run a site and have only opened the forum just to get views at the moment.

We will be changing the banner soon :) As chris (other owner) decided it was rubbish and went and made the one on it now. Thanks for your views.

I see your point, but the forum is there to give you help and not the answers you may get answers of other people but we prefer if people give tips or help/info on a certain thing in a subject. If you think the information is incorect which is given to you then you can go and find it somewhere else. It is not the staffs or our fault that you fail. It would be the person that provided you with the information ect. fault.

I see your point, but the forum is there to give you help and not the answers you may get answers of other people but we prefer if people give tips or help/info on a certain thing in a subject. I rather go with professional sites, and ones from the BBC.

With our site it is updated regulary and for instance with bbc they dont have a live help system of any sort were as we do in our main site which is being released soon.

And with the forum your getting help from people of your own age or people who have had experience of the coursework/tests which you have done fresh in their mind so they know about stuff more. Also with bbc ect. hey dont provide all the information but we can in our forum people can give you information about anything.

With your comment about 'why would anyone want to do more than their own homework?!' They arent doing anyone elses. If you read clearly in one of my earlier posts i stated we are more for the help towards answers not actually giving answers they could be giving tips aswell. So therefore they arent doing anyone others homework. If they do give answers then we will advise them not to as that is a source of cheating.

With these as we are at school we create these from the lessons that we do that day or from our books/coursework. So there really is no need for qualification when you think of it. We just provide help not full answers.

First site - We all have worked on many sites. As site manager and forum manager. So we have had experience. There are many people who make a site and do well with it. So just because it's a 'First site' doesnt mean it will fail.

The actual site layout may be one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. You've drew a layout using boxes with big borders. Then coded the image into a site. If you had any brains at all, you know all that can be done with VERY basic CSS. So now all the boxes are out of line which means the borders don't meet and you need a complete revamp and a new brain for better ideas.

I dont have gaps on the forum :S I use i.e. so im guessing its not firefox freindly and i will see into that. I didnt create the layout ect. I didnt think the circles were the best but the other 2 owners did so i was overpowered. The ipod thing was just a quick fix as the system had seemed to fo died so we put them there for now and will be changing.

I disagree with your comment about the categorys being in one.
I will be deleting the welcome category as it is unneeded.

Get a basic and clean skin. They nearly always look better.

And are you the owner or what? If you are paying for the hosting and domain you should tell them it looks crap. Infact, point them to my comments So I can tell them personally it looks crap.

hi i am the owner that has been talked about so much by my friend:rolleyes: above i am taking in all of your comments and am putting a chack list together of things i need to do. but i must just mentions a couple of things in my defence. firstly to the person who recommends phpbb3 i am going to install this to the site as soon as the fully stable release is released. also i am going to re skin the forum as this one was only done fast aswell as the first page on omgimstuck.net.

but y see at the moment I am having to create and code the layout of the site for release by my self ive had to install and skin the forum by myself and make sure everyting is working. unfortiunatly ben above and the other owner have been mostly playing there computer games leaving it to me to get on with things then as ben is doing complaining to me when it all goes wrong :@

i just did lol i said they got a week or i will delete the site and im bigger than them lol so ive got them doing pages and im putting the finishing touches to the layout when ive done that change the forum skin;) thanks for your input +rep and ill tell you when its done :)
