The abyssal whip is one of the fastest weapons in RuneScape. It has a high strength bonus, which, combined with its speed and special attack, makes it a highly accurate and deadly weapon. It requires 70 attack to wield and can be obtained by killing abyssal demons (level 85 slayer required) or buying it from players, at locations such as the world 2 Falador markets. If you wish to train strength with this weapon however, you must use the controlled attack style. As an additional bonus, when successfully using the special attack, 10% of your opponent's run energy will be transferred to you (this special uses 50% of your special attack bar).

basically its the best one-handed weapon in the game for training attack and defence. as it doesn't train strength.
