Im a little confused, when your'e 16, can you go on holiday no problem and stay in hotels or do whatever you want?
Or is it 18?

You can fly at 16, but you have a studist to take care of you during your flights as you are under 18 and with the hotel I think you have to be over 18 unless its already booked by your parent/gardian (Think you need proof of this too).

Most airlines allow you to fly on your own with nobody with you, nor anyone picking you up at the airport if you are 16 or over. Usually your aloud to fly alone from 14, solong as somebody drops you off at the airport and somebody picks you up the other end.
But 99% of airlines say 16 to travel alone, like any normal person.
Only exception is America, you have to be 18 or over to travel alone, oh and portugal.
Most hotels are 18, despite who booked it.. The only place I can think of which allow 16+ is Travelodge.

To Travel to America and Canada alone if your under 18 you have to either have someone fly with you or meet you at the airport.
To travel anywheree in europe its 16 =] and staying on your own you should be fine =]]
