I want to get the train down to Manchester / picadily station,But i dont think £30 is the cheapest for like return so +rep some one who can get cheaper.

It depends on what day/time you go down. I've tried to get cheap tickets to cardiff but it was still £30 because it was the same times as when I last went.

So, if you try and change the times a bit, you could get it cheaper.

You tried the Virgin Trains website? Not sure but you can get it like cheaper if you book in advance.
