View Full Version : custom text
you know when you post a thread or a post, is it possible to make it so when you post, it automatically changes it to your preffered text. it may have been suggested and wondered if you can implement it in some way (if it is even possible)
just a quick note, i think you should only ban words that are not allowed before the 9pm watershed. this is because everyone will, inevatabaly, hear these words and so there is no pint in blocking them. 8 year olds will hear words that are banned on here on tv.
I always wanted the text so that u don't have to KEEP CHANGING colour every time u post :(

the rules would have to be changed in order to implement your idea of the filter being turned off after 9pm, so this idea wouldnt be so straight-forward
also i see nothing wrong with the filter, i like a pleasant atmosphere while browsing the forums
it would at least give some people to be original with each of their posts. but youll get some people that will have horrible text that you cant read. but i would just skip that post anyway.
i dont mean it switching off at 9pm, what i mean is the words allowed before 9pm on tv should be allowed on here anytime. or at least they should be removed but you only get a warning for a lot of rule breaks. because you swear and dont realise you do sometimes because its just normal chit chat

most of them are, for example 'bloody' is quite commonly used on tv and its allowed on here.

The text idea has been suggested loads of times, and they've only said no because of some problems it could cause.

I'm pretty sure I heard of a certain addon for the Opera browser you could get for this. It was some time ago though so It may have been something else.
oh i see

well i was just watching scrubs and they use quite a few words that i thought would be banned before i cant give examples because im not sure if their filtered/allowed

thoght so. but it would still be a good idea, can they not limit it to certain fonts and colour and szes?

Personally I dont see anything wrong with the default text. Tbh it annoys me when people set their text to bright yellow and size to 1, with my eyesight it makes it incredibly difficult to read, and I'm sure I'm not just speaking for myself.
But that isn't the topic of discussion. An addon like this would be good for the people who use different text styles, but if it is a hack it is very unlikely to be installed because of security issues.

yh but surely they can set restrictions. like only readable text (arial, verdana, treuchet?) and colours (red, blue, black) and certain sizes like from 2 - 3. this way. people can customize their posts. obviously theior will be a wider range.
i like the default one already, its jsut when i want to make my post stand out or want to have a different fnt,i have to do loads, eg bold, italic, size to 1 and change to arial.
having this wouldnt stop you from using BIG LETTERING in normal posts.

I have to say I did think about this at one point and if it is possible it's probably a good idea for those who really don't want to have to change the text colour, size and font every time they post because they like a certain text and would prefer it as a set one which they could choose. I do agree this would be good but whether it can be done or will be done or not is a completely different question.

There is an add-on, but it will not be added on, I am afraid! It's the whole security problem with plug-ins and modifications thing that gets in the way of Habbox adding too many.
Meh, if you need bad language to get a point across, it probably isn't a point worthy of discussing on the forums. That's why I think Habbo giving the option is ridiculous...
