Suppose it was an okay fight.

It wasn't okay at all, the referee prevented Ricky from gaining the advantage due to Mayweather's cowardly tactics, but hey - there's americans for you. Even the boxers outside of the ring were protesting against the ref's actions.

Ok the ref was only bad for the first few rounds.. In the end Hatton was beaten by the better boxer..
Sorry.

First few rounds? He removed points for a punch that didn't even make connection, so no - he wasn't beaten by the better boxer at all. English boxer in an American destination, bias!

That ref was useless, if they got to points he still would have lost, all the judges were from Nevada aka all Floyd Mayweather Fans

i thought mayweather would win, because hatton makes weird noises and on the thing the tv show the other day he went.
"how embarassing to get beaten by me"

He was unlucky, as the ref was hardly both-sided.
But you cant blame the ref for his loss, Mayweather got him down fair and square, the better boxer won, but in a few years, it'll be different..

Completley and totally outclassed by the best boxer on this planet, Hatton was second best right throughout. Hatton left himself exposed too many times and Mayweather just picked the openings, he was trying to exert himself on to Mayweather far too much.

Althought to fair, I've never seen Mayweather take so many risks himself and approach a fight in that manner, so you've got to give credit to Hatton for that. Absolute peach of a left hook by Mayweather for the shot that started the end for Hatton, though!

Perfect summary of the fight. You can't blame the referee for Hattons loss mayweather landed some massive shots which Hatton couldn't reply with. I liked the fact that after the fight Hatton in the post match interviews he could share a joke and wasn't too upbeat about the defeat.

In everything we lose there seems to be a problem with the referee :S. Maybe we're just not as good at sport as we think?

Gutted that Hatton lost and I was annoyed with the ref like any other Hatton fan but at the end of the day that punch which put Hatton down was a cracker, even without the ref I think Hatton would have still lost as Mayweather put in some good punches. :(

I use to have respect for you but now you get on like a little kid putting everyone down.

Hatton was cheated BIG TIME by the ref and the judging panel were all Mayweather fans as someone said.

But still I think Mayweather still woulda won.

From Sky Sports

He was ably assisted by referee Cortez who did not let Hatton get close to his man, when the whole world knew his best chance to win was to get in the champion's face and fight like he has never fought before.

No sooner had he done that than the official was between them. Too many times he stepped in, once before Hatton had even thrown a punch. Cortez had been asked by Billy Graham to let them fight on the inside, but had clearly made his mind up.

From the first round he wouldn't let the rhythm flow, wouldn't let Hatton build up any momentum and it was clear that the Hitman had two foes to deal with. In the sixth he had a point deducted for hitting round the back of the head, the only real surprise being that Cortez waited that long.

Mayweather's part should not be underplayed either. Ducking down into the Hitman's attacks he duped the referee, left Hatton with little alternative but to box round the back of the head and when that point was stripped, wasn't even hit - and was leaning out of the ropes.

But it was all part of the performance. A performance that proves, whether or not you like him, the Pretty Boy is far and away the best fighter of his generation.

Yet it had all started so well for Hatton, his pace and his work-rate edging the first round amid the constant refereeing interruptions. The size of the task soon became clear though when, on the break, Mayweather started finding his range.

The ref did have alot to do with it. Hatton's technique is to lean onto his opponent and throw in hooks to the body, head. Where as soon as they clinched in, the ref was breaking it which was helping Floyld because that isnt were Floyld wanted to be. He was dropping back and picking his shots. The point deduction was a disgrace, the punch didnt touch the back of the head as Mayweathers head was not even in the ring. I think the point deduction caused Hatton to get stressed and go all out as he wasnt focusing on a defensive role but more on just going right in and throwing punches which caused Mayweahter to catch him with that left hook that put him out. I dont like to say it but Mayweahter was the better fighter but maybe if their was a diffrent/better ref the outcome of the fight would been diffrent. :(

Well to the person who sed will they fight again the answer is'nt at all known.
It is possible but as Mayweather is taking a 2 year break it wont be for some time.. He si think or retiring alltogether as he is losing interest in boxing.

Hes retiring because he knows sooner or later he will be beat and wants to end his career unbeaten.
