Do you like general anime? My friend shannen came into school with some pictures she drew of sailor moon, and i was already into it, but she's got me proper into it know and i think its absoloutely amazing. What do you's think

This forum is probably the worst place to discuss anime. People here describe it as 'kids stuff', which is totally inaccurate. Seeing as a lot of anime is 18+ ;) However, me and a few others do love anime. :D

What do you mean when you say general anime? I like loads of anime and I have seen Sailor Moon. ;) I like animes that fall under fantasy, adventure/action, fighting/war, mystery, comedy and drama/romance the best. I just can't get enough of them!

I quite like it, theres alot of ****, but also alot of good content.

The best to listed here id would say are Gantz (which i really want to see continued) & Hellsing.

Though the all time ultimate anime is undoubtedly NGE IMO. Neon Genisis Evanglon eclipses almost any media out there, anime or not. (highly suggested viewing)

Tho theres plenty of other fun to watch stuff out there, so id have to say im a fan :p

I'm finding Viewtiful Joe cartoons on YouTube rather interesting at the moment. After playing the game I wondered what the actual cartoon, the origin was like and it's interesting to see how the game came about and what the story is like. I watched a few Sailor Moon cartoons on some site ages ago, that was interesting too because it used to be on Fox Kids (now Jetix).

I love Dragonball (Z & GT). And have also watched Sailor Moon and of course Pokemon, Digimon and Yugioh. But none of the what I will class as "hardcore anime", mainly the ones which haven't had much mainstream success over here.

I love anime, my favourite is Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's not 100% anime as it has been westernised, but there's so many different elementss of Eastern culture put into it. Pokémon has to be the worst anime ever, the animation in it is terrible; but I still like it because it's Pokémon.

My favourites are:

AND ANYTHING BY STUDIO GHIBLI; this is what I've watched from Studio Ghibli so far:

I'm a big fan of Avatar aswell. :P Seen every episode up to season 3, episode 12. :D The animation is fantastic and the fights are awesome. They're making a live action movie aswell. :)

Yeah, thats episode 12. :P Zuko is one of my favourite characters along with Toph and Iroh, I was like woo. But I hate Katara.
I don't know much about the director, but I can't wait for the movie. Although no doubt it will seem rushed. A 60 episode american anime can't really fit into one film.

I read it was going to be 3 films for each book. Live-action films though... I didn't realise Avatar was that popular for the funding for something like that.
I think this will be my most anticipated film ever. Currently it's Advent Children, I waited 2 years for that to be released--and it was SOOO worth it.

I doubt they'd ever get the funding for a live-action Pokémon film, especially considering it would probably be the Japanese company. Their live-action film industry is terrible.

I dont really know if it classes as a proper anime with its simplistic concepts and story lines and 1 dimentional charicters... Granted most westenatised animes cut most of that out as westen viewers are generally seen as too stupid to keep track of the complex story lines most proper anime shows have.
(gundam wings are a good example, they cut so much out of that its rediculus)

Deathnotes clever, but id still say NGE surpasses it. The links in to the lesser known freudian theory's as well as removed bible passages, along with clever naming and subtle symbolagy do give it substantial depth :p
