I think Season 2 is split into 2 volumes.

Tim Kring stated in an interview with The Post Show on G4, that Season 2 was actually supposed to encompass 3 volumes; Volume 2 (11 episodes), Volume 3 (7 episodes) and Volume 4 (6 episodes). This plan changed due to the Writer's Strike.

Volume 3 is only going to be 7 episodes, that be crap.

series two was originally meant ot be comprised of volumes 2 with 11 episodes, volume 3 with 7 episodes, and volume 4 with a different amount, i cant remember what.]
but due to the writer's strike, only volume two could be done on time. anticipating this, they filmed an alternate chapter 11, which they were gonna film only if the strike did go ahead.
i think they might merge volume 3+4 into series 3. i hope so anyway.
