They want a 2.5% pay rise, and they've been offered what equils to 1.9%. It's only fair really, to meet the yearly inflation.

I suppose there maybe some fairness. Afterall, the fire service went on strike a few years ago and life wasn't that bad "/ As long as they get their pay rise then peace would be restored. Afterall, most of the vigilantes are normal people. If someone steals a handbag, there is more of a likelyhood that a citizen will chase down the culprit than a policeman being there.

I thought police officers would do more as community support officers only deal with 1 area..but theres more of the community support

and police have to make arrests, take them to the station, go to the next place etc

i agree with you in someways but lets be honest if a guy comes to your house with a gun he woudnt let you hpoen the police and even if he did or someone else did they take around 1 hour to comeout any way by that time would be long gone or you would be dead

The truth is that on the police contract it says you will recieve this amount of pay rise at this time, but only if you do not protest, so police do not have the right to protest but the government didnt give them the amount of pay rise promised, so the police are saying why should we keep our promise and not protest for it, if the government doesnt keep theres.
