I wrote this a while back and thought i'd post it. **** all you like it didn't take me too long so it's not brilliant.:P
Habbox Site review.
I have been on Habbo for almsot 4 years now and have always used habbox.com.
One of it's main features to me and many of you other habbos is it's Rare Values section which is used by nealry ever habbo out there. Their values have helped everyone trade safe and fairly even if some people don't agree with some of the prices.
The newer feature that they have added where you can search for almost any rare out their and it will give you the price immidiatly is very useful for when casino dealers need to knwo the price quiclky or even shop keepers.
Another of Habbox.com's main features is obviously their radio station which is presented by many talented, up and coming DJ's. With great music, competitions and parties happening it's no wonder they have so many listeners cluthcing onto their every word. And of course we can't forget about the men and women behind the scenes keeping all the technicalities in shape.
These obviously are not the only feature Habbox.com provides as of course it is a Fan Site of Habbo Hotel so as soon as Habbo release a bit of information the Habbox team are in straight away and writing about the new features or competions so all you habbos are the first to know compared to any other Habbo Hotel fan site.
Then there are the almost daily competions Habbox.com provides. From fridge races to Bingo they do it all for your enjoyment.
They also provide us with mini games. Which are just an added bonus.:P
Lastly, there is the forum feature. With it's many members they have all different topics and polls for you to discuss and have your opnion.
If you ask me, and i'm sure many of you will agree, the Habbox.com forum is the perfect forum for teens who spend time on habbo. You can discuss habbo topics such as trading, glitches and all the news and also discuss anything outside of habbo which is why i think it is perfect. All habbos can express their views and give advice when others need it.
So all in all, if you ask me..
Habbox.com is by far the best and most succesfull habbo fan site and i wish the whole team good luck in expanding it in the future.
Good work! :)

The site has rapidly fell apart over the past year, the skin is a free skin ive been told, most of the rares are missing, Rare Watch is hardly updated, News is slow to come through (thats if it ever does), The guides are outdated, Articles hardly are written anymore, Management as in sierk contradicts himself and his sites definitions and Management also put up polls asking the public's opinion but qwhen it doesn't swing their way they ignore it.

I agree to some extent, they're updating rare watch a bit quicker now BUT the images, names and dates are either incorrect or shouldn't be there. There's also a lack of inforation to go with each rare... I don't like the fact they've put the amber lights twice... It looks messy.

I believe that the Rare Watch is being updated more often than before now as I have set tasks for each of the Content Designers.
If you have any comments, suggestions etc then you should PM me and I will see what I can do about it for you :)

I would have to defend two of those points:
The news is updated extremely often, usually by Favourtism. From a conversation we had yesterday, he posted a full 35 reports last week; there is no problem with the news on the site.
Since its my department, I will also defend the point about the articles. Compared to in the summer where you were lucky to get one article per week, there are at least 3/4 articles per week, increased to 6 this week with the two new trialists; and thats only if the team write to their bare minimum requirement, it isnt unusal for some staff to post more (for example, Lost-Shark has written 2 articles this week I believe). Also, the quality of the articles has shot up, with them looking fantastic and having high quality content and SPAG, and quality over quantity dictates that that is worth more than 10 poorly written articles per week.

I find the idea of an article section a bit hard really, I don't see how you can work one. You must have alot to talk about to find a topic for the articles section so getting that many articles a week is really good in my opinion. The news is ok, you don't want boring news or random articles to shuve in an empty space to make up for the lack of news, it's tacky really...
I only have criticisms with Rare Watch which isn't very informative and the Catalogue Rare page is messy now that you're saying when they were last released. When my host finally lives, I'm having a section at the bottom or on a new page to tell people what rares have been released more than once and when, perhaps in a pop-up?
Another criticism is with the facts, tips and tricks sort of pages, which are a bit outdated...

I disagree. Yes the site is a free skin but in my opinion it looks good and no over major sites use it. Articles are being written more frequently. I posted 1 news report on habbox this week before it was posted on Habboxforum ( a UK one) and I post all/most of the International reports before they are posted on HxD. I cannot comment on sierk and GM's as I don't have access to what they do however they must be doing very well to get a forum this popular and a site and radio immensely popular. Recently all the departments which may have been lacking, have been drastically improved.

Yes our conversation last night he he ;) Last week I posted 30 News reports and this week since Saturday night I have posted 21. I think the UK news is posted very fast and due to being offered lots of news positions by other fan sites I started to look at their news. Habbox news has been posted a LOT quicker than on other sites the last few weeks so it is improving. You will probably say one person (being me) does not make a department. Well with Yum as ANM now they news department has strong management which can only push the department forward. The other remaining reporters have been away for a good few weeks but when they return there will be another 3 news reports posted each week from each of them and that is if they stick to the minimum.
It's good that you criticise UNDERTAKER as everyone needs criticism however plain negatives is just going to make Habbox staff feel like they have been spat at. The lacking departments ( If any now ) are still being improved so soon hopefully there will be nothing to slate.

I know it seems a bit ironic that I am questioning this, but is this really a review? It seems more like an advert to me...
In my opinion, a review is a non subjective piece that considers both the positive and negative aspects of the object that is being discussed, but shows no real bias other than possibly a bit of opinion from the author at relevant points.
Surely we aren't in a position where there are no negatives about our site and policies?

After reading again it does sound like an advertisement. I was replying to UNDERTAKER's comments before anyway. I agree that Habbox has negatives as everything does.

I don't really see what the problem is with a free skin although we are working on that as we speak. It does the job IMO. Many popular sites in the world simply use a black background with plain text on it and manage to pull in hundreds of thousands of users a day. I can't remember the links any more as their topics don't interest me but they do exist and remain popular.
In all honesty no matter what we make the site look like, there will always be a group of people that don't like it. Content is what matters most.
Instead of saying most the rares are missing and the rare watch is hardly updated, why not tell us which rares are missing? Or whats outdated in the rare watch?
What guides are outdated? Which parts of the guides?
Constructive critisim is the only way one can improve anything - what you have provide is negative comments that we cannot work from.
Thanks

I agree that sometimes the forum can be full of arguements but that's the users not Habbox. Also Moderators sort out the problem quite quickly.
Like MAD said instead of just saying ''BAH HABBOSCUKZ EVERYTHINGIS RUBBUSH M8Z K'' give ideas on how it oculd be improved etc.

That is the whole point though.
The pages are left outdated for months, someone comes along and adds a few things, it gets left AGAIN for a few months. I am not going to PM any admin as sierk doesn't value what people outside management say, remember the two polls linked with Rare Values? He ignored them because the vote didn't swing his way.

The news has improved slightly over past week, but is still slow. I remember the days when the news was posted as it happened. the Articles are slowly coming through and they seem to be increasingly repeats of what has been posted many times before.

The site looked good when it first got the skin, however the skin is old and boring now and other sites such as ClubHabbo make yourn site look like a freewebs one. It's time Habbox have seasonal sites which look good.
I won't go through what is missing, isn't that the job of your RV Staff? I am not RV Staff so why the hell would I write out a list of what is missing. I do occasionally help Immenseman with Images but i'm afraid it's not my job it's the Departments. Sierk does seem to have lost control of his own Department/s.
I believe you have a hard job, your much more different and clear minded than sierk and 8Freak8 put together yet sierk seems to block things that you and the public support which I find is a shame.

Work harder? The minimum posted a week is 3 and I posted 30. I post as soon as I see them which has a few times before it has even been posted on HabboxForum. I work as hard as I can so when I saw your comment I feel disgusted. No offense but if you think in the News Dep I can work harder then please care to elaborate and tell me how. I would of have 5 reports posted on Habbox before on HxF but I had to go to hopsital to visit a family member with cancer which will obviously take priority over posting a news report an hour earlier. I apologise for not being up to your standards

Rare Watch is the one, all the others such as the Sulake ones are ok up to now, however I think there is a vacant place where a Habbo guide should be which shouild include events like Callie's reign, Ione's reign, certain rises of rares, Samovar, Throne, Green Pillow, Strobe Solarium, the fall of the supers - All of this is missing from what is claimed to be the best Habbo Fansite.

MAD says the sites layout is being worked on currently so thats on tick off your list. About the best Habbo fansite, can you show examples of a better site which is more popular, has everything the Habbox has and has the Rare Watch things that you like?
I've spoke to The Rv Managers and i think Lost-Shark updates them daily, or was at one point, compared to weekly in April.
The News has improved dramatically imo over the last few months.
The skin does look a bit iffy to me, but its being changed according to MAD so tis good.

Popularity has nothing to do with being a good site, so get that out of your head. Also on the new site, that was agreed when I was still staff so saying it will happen now when it hasn't all year is pretty poor.
HabboTimes has a good record for bringing new news and the site looks immaculate. ClubHabbo is another site which has great skins and is never just left.

MAD posted an announcement a few weeks back I think looking for layout designers so I assume it is near. If a site was good then it would be popular though. If a site in un popular then it tends to be bad.
I like HabboTimes and ClubHabbo however Habbox beats ClubHabbo in News as I have been observing times posted. Also as far as I know they don't offer articles.
