maybe because he wants you to do well in life and he thinks that you will be better off in higher education.

Higher Education is MUCH better than at school. Your treated like a person. You don't have to sit there quiet, you can do what you like, when you like.
You might also get EMA and the pay from the job from it will be way better than getting a job as you leave school.
Also a job will be more hard work :p

Look, guys... He doesn't want to go into Higher Education and he hasn't asked to be convinced to change his mind. To you, it might seem like the right path but to some people it isn't; just because he chooses not to, it does not make him any less of a person.
I assume you have tried talking to your dad? Explain to him that it's just not the way for you and you wouldn't do well if you were to go through it. On the other hand, you could look at the many other things you could do. Remember that after Secondary School, Sixth Form or College isn't your only option. There are loads of things you could do. What sort of things are you interested in?

Odea.
Perhaps explain to him, or ask him why hes "miffed off" with you.
And ask whether its about the fact you don't wanna continue in education.

Yea, I agree.

I think you should do it, because you never know, in a few years time, you might wish you had listened to your dad. He's only trying to do what's best for you.
