Are you have a general anaesthetic.. If you are trust me you wont feel a thing. I have two ops in the summer. The most painfull will be a tiny tiny needle in your arm and then you will wake up with some fit nurse leaning over you (hopefully)

Best Of Luck!!

i had an operation once when i was 12. i remember a needle *****ed into the upperside of my hand (the side where you see your nails). that really hurts, when i woke up it was still there, lmao. the nurse removed it after though. they will put you to sleep with a gas mask over your face before the operation, so you wouldn't feel a thing.

good luck!

You wont feel a thing because they gas you out and sleep through the whole thing. ;)

Yeah like people said you get put under anesthetic and put to sleep anyway also like don't be worried because the doctors are trianed people and have done these things loads of times before ;].

Operations are nothing really. I had to have my appendix removed. All they do is stick a needle in you and your gone. You know no more until you get out.

i have to have an operation in february. i also had 2 last year. the thing that hurts most is the needle. But i dont have to have those no more as i`m allergic to them.

I think you could ask for gas?

Its really nothing to worry about, as the others have said, the worst is usually a ***** on the arm. I've had loads of operations in the past, and I've got through them easy :P

What a drama queen...

There's nothing to worry about. But first, my story. I was having a camera stuck up my bum hole so the day before I had to eat their silly diet and take their mingified laxatives. I ate, but it came back up. So I was deffo. empty. Then that was that... The anaesthatists are normally v. friendly and cheerful and will keep you happy. Crack the odd joke, etc. etc.

They'll give you the option of having a mask or having the injection (which you get anyways even if you do have the mask). The mask feels really weird because it makes you feel dead dizzy and daydreamy - it's fab. Then a few hours later, you wake up with a canula in your hand (please - don't talk to me about them - I'm canula king) and probably go back to sleep again... then wake up... then go back to sleep... then wake up, and you'll be given a bowl of cereal or some toast. Fab!

Hmmm, people are posting about needles stick in your hands. Ignore the idea that those needles will give you pain, the longer a needle is in your arm/hand wherever, the less painful it would be ad there is very high change you'll still have anaestic, so you wouldn't feel a thing. What sort of operation is it btw?

What the sweet Jesus is a canula? Is that the thing that what they connect the drip to, because I always thought it had an obvious yet hard to remember name.
