The Helicopter 4000 Struggle
By Me (Name will not be said for legal reasons)
You have all heard of the infamous Helicopter Game. You know the one, you click down on the left button of your mouse to take that helicopter up, let go and it falls. You're the pilot, steering that poor helicopter and self sanity through a deep, dark tunnel covered in levitating green blocks and green walls. You hopelessly dodge as the tunnel gets thinner and more blocks appear to block your way, and you soon realize your fate is forever dodging blocks in a tunnel.
Don't make that believe this game isn't fun; it's great fun - for the first five tries. After that it's just try upon try to beat that high score that just sits their in the bottom right hand corner laughing at you. Admittedly I only got a measly 400 on my first try (not exact but I don't have a memory of much more than a goldfish on steroids) but that soon ended. I tried and tried and nearly broke screens to achieve my goal. I didn't yet have a goal but I knew if I was to make it somewhere in this world I would have to have a goal; and so I made that goal. Achieve the number 4000 or above on The Helicopter Game.
I can already hear it. "You're insane! The green walls have forced you into believing it is actually possible!". Well my dearest friends, it is possible and I am going to achieve it very well indeed. Who knows, I could go on until I want to drop the helicopter into the floor and walk the rest of the way.
My journey began here, in my home on my computer. Repeatedly beating my previous record by only two points a go isn't going to get me anywhere unless I choose to throw away my future so I'm going to have to buckle up.
For the next five weeks I'm going to post updates on my journey and my current record, so keep on checking this thread. My social life and family life will soon be well back at point 2800, whilst I cruise away at 3600! As for me, signing off to play more of The Helicopter Game. See you soon.
