New fansite layout <opinions needed>

Hi,

Me and RareIce have created a new layout, and we need your opinion.

This is the layout (open the spoiler):

I would like to change the colour scheme, but I'm not sure what colours are good.

Your opinions are appriciated, therefore it aint coded yet. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM only, if you're going to flame it, don't bother unless you can justify it, and tell me what I need to do to improve it.

And turn down the watermark a bit. It would be nice to actually see the layout properly.

Is the site gonna be Habbo related?
If so, make it more Habbo-y; use some images.

& yeah, in the future turn down the watermark!
Couldn't really see the layout properly, lol.

Perhaps use different colours too, a little brighter. :]

I guess the square boxes make it look plain, I think you can redo this layout to make it better.

Erm, if you read my post the bit where I told you to turn the watermark down was constructive.

yeah because the watermark will be on the actual site lol.

the left top box will be a banner, the right will be news... i have done it like this so it can be in DIVS to edit when i want it to be.

Ermm it's too yellow , you barely can see anything except the yellow , make certain bits stand out more , Also the writing on the top right looks half pink and white to me :S

I guess someone cant take critisizm. If mine wasnt constructive then I dont know what is. Its all boxes theres no variation, hardly any curved edges. If im totally honest its awful but I thought I would say it in a nicer way.

well if you dont like red, how do i know what colour you like. if i change it to green and you dont like it, then i could go on forever. so why dont you just tell me in the first place

Saying 'Change the colours' is constructive as its telling you what to do, saying 'Change it to this shade of red' is basically doing the layout for you. ACCEPT CRITISIZM YOU FOOL.

No it's not. Constructive critism is critism which tells the person on how to improve something or otherwise it's that crap they should stop with a reason.

EG:

Critism: Crap layout, Worst layout ever, Your a noob a graphics, I don't like it etc.
Constructive Critism: Green to bright, Not well structured, poor fonts used, boxes should be curved etc.

The content boxes are too big like.
