I got a 40GB PS3 for christmas which cost £299.99 from most shops. And i found out that if you order a 80GB PS3 from america it will work out to £250. I'll try and find the site that was selling it for $499.00/£250.00

If you bought it from America, it would be NTSC, not PAL? So you would have to have NTSC games..

erm yh ok since it includes a blu ray player that actually cost about £250 - £300 for a good one, and a ps3 costs £300 and you get a games console.

no they dont they cost about £20 and you get more than just a HD picture. when you actually decide to get a blu ray player/hd player because a dvd youw ant has only come out on blu ray you would already have one

and its not a ps2 with a bluray dvd player, the graphics are much more inhanced, PS3 home will be coming soon which looks great and you can do pretty much what the other consoles can do.

Not everybody wants a Blu-ray player and Sony force you to get one if you want a PS3, Microsot give you the choice by making the HD-DVD player external so you can chose what you want.

Blu-Ray is much more expensive and has a minutely higher quality, for the money you pay HD-DVD is far superior. Sony have always been the type to think "It's more expensive, so it much be better"

Metal Gear Solid 4
Rachet and Clank

All those are great games, some of them are on other consoles, think of how good some of the "XBOX only" games would be on the PS3, if all those games converted to PS3... there would be alot more PS3 users probably..

Thats just being biased? I love my 360, and I love my PS3, both have their good qualities and both have their bad.. the PS3 having better graphics.. and Blu-Ray.

The price range isn't that bad.. its worth it, in my opinion, because I thought just like everyone else on here until I actually got one, and found out it was amazing.

I am focused on gameplay, and graphics, I am not going to have a game.. that looks so unreal but has amazing gameplay, its stupid.

I want a balance of both, and so far the PS3 has been able to give me both of those.

You must be living under a rock labeled 10 years ago then, only a few budget and childrens films are released on VHS, and this only becuase the publishers cant afford to released on a newever format, or the wider audience still uses VHS, with young children I imagine this is true. The fact is quality changes, people expect better quality, as such better formats are created. It's simple evolution. And as for you not giving into Vista you're just being stubborn for the sake of it, if you really cared you'd use Linux anyways. XD
