Here's a quick layout a made. I haven't added the navigation yet.

Hey,

I'm not too keen, it drags me back a few years.

I like the overall idea, a lot more could be added too it though. Keep the old effect if you want, put in a wooden background or something similar and it would be more effective. :)

I understand what you mean,
a certain texture in the background would give it a better feel.

A lot better.

Remove the stroke and drop shaddow. I think a lot of photographers have portfolios in that style, look aroung for some inspiration on what to do in the middle part for content. Even a black box, with about 60% opacity with white writing and thumbnails above it in with some javascript to spice it up would look nice. :)

It doesn't look, as good with out the dropshadow,
but I shall make it somewhat smaller.

& The black box effect doesnt suit.

Actually, no I didn't.
He said he had 52 photographs, taken by him.
Which I doubt, as I doubt he takes pictures of Avril Lavigne?
