Right so here we go again more key games who you playing?

we're away at port vale who are bottom so its a massive game for us and we have to do it without 3 first team players who are suspended

if we're going to win our first away game this is the team to do it against and with the performance against bristol hopefully we can keep 11 on the pitch and get the 3 points:P

not predicting as we always lose when i do...

Preston away, OH GOD!

After a playing a team who are top of the table off the park, what will happen to us at a struggling team where we never seem to win?

Well, considering, we SHOULD have won our last 5 games due to our performancs improving we SHOULD beat them.

Away to Morecambe.. knowing us we will lose that match we are shocking. Since 1997 on Boxing day, saturday after and new yrs day we have only won 3 times. What team do u know that has a bad record like tht ? plus we are without Aaron Mclean as he is suspended

Another trip away over the festive period, this time it's all the way to Bristol. If we play anything like we did on Boxing Day we'll get beat. Ward can't face it that the long ball game doesn't work . We should be playing flowing, passing football like we used to. We need to take our chances too - Danny Graham needs a huge kick up the backside and we just need to rely on all of our players to deliver - not just some like at Tranmere.

Jordie

i wont predict your game this time because look what happened against tranmere:P

but they dont finish their chances so if you can put away most of yours you should win it

Haha yeah I think I'll stay well away from it too :P. If you'd seen us on Boxing Day Jord, you'd have known what I mean about the lack of finishing. I'd be more worried about us not finishing the chances than them.

I'm off to the moat to watch us fail against Southend - should be a laugh, reputation and all that.

If we win, well, cemented play-off place, if we don't, back down to 7/8th and possibly out of the running.

Bleh.

We have Arsenal at home, I'm looking forward to this! I'm hoping it'll be a good match. Hat trick on home games the last 3 seasons anyone?! :)

Jesus, that's 3 in a row.

We totally dominated a less than average Southend side. Their goal was quite lucky but good build up. We had 4 corners overall - scored from 3 of them.

Excellent result, into 4th - Swansea did us a favour.

On the other hand;

Loosing to Everton :(

Preston 1-2 Cardiff

4 wins from 6 and they two that we didn't win, we were robbed by the referee. 12th place now. Don't right us off, just yet.

Arsenal waited for a while to take Bendtner off but the fourth officials radio to the referee didn't work.

Arteta has been sent off now. 10 v 10

EDIT: 4-1 now - Rosicky

let me sum up the 2nd half cheats.

2 Handballs during Bums goals

Red Card to Spaniard Arteta shouldn't of been, it was a little brush and Fabregas looked like he had just got shot and needed stitches

CHEATS PURE.

get in there beat port vale 2-1

last minute 35 yard strike from matty spring:P
massive win for us because the others around us got some good results

off topic but on the way home we was listening to the arsenal game and they were all mistakes apart from the fourth which is slightly worrying because without them they could of got something out of arsenal today

Not really, they're the ones who scored the goals. Personally, I thought in the first half, we dominated and I also thought maybe the wind was in our favour. Had a few chances aswell, should've got a 2nd goal too.. after all, it is Arsenal.

Fabregas was acting like he had broken his jaw. But I'm sure that foul on Johnson’s shin from lanky Bendter is worse. We were the ones who were passing the ball whilst Arsenal were playing long balls and one player in particular hoofing it. We play football, they play hoofball.. Yet they won.
I do think the better side lost, and I'm not being biased.

Sometimes I really do think that the referee's favour the big four!

Also, that referee was awful! He made some extremely bad decisions today.
Awful, just awful

And what on earth has been up with Howard recently?!

grrrrrrrrrrr, didnt see the Arteta incident really. I thought he was fouled first, went to the ground, then that player tripped over :|
I'll have to watch MOTD tonight!

the difference is arsenal had 4 chances and scored 4

but i heard everton had a brilliant chance to make it 2-1 with a yakubu header 8 yards out and he put it wide

thats what seperates good sides from brilliant sides

And that's why no other teams will be in the top 4.

Yeah, he should've scored that but he put it wide.

As far as I'm aware (I wont be sure until I see highlights etc..), On one of Arsenal's goals there was a handball and on another, one of our players got fouled and brought down in their box, and they just continued.

I think the referee is blind, there was some blatent handballs/fouls right in front of him.

Nothing wrong with any of Arsenal's goals, although their performance wasn't sparkling. What annoys me is people label this team as soft, then they retaliate to other team's physicality and they're now the scum of the earth. Which one is it, soft or dirty? How can they possibly be both?

Alan_Carr
30-12-2007, 10:24 AM
Arteta deserved to be sent off, you cant do that, he's a dumb***.
It was so obvious though the way he did it.
Bendtner's second yellow was jut clumsy and unlucky, it was a clear striker's challenge.

Before you call us cheats maybe you should look at your own players first
Neville and Arteta were both guilty of diving during the match

Although cesc made the most of it, you can't say that making the most of contact to the face is worse than going down with no contact at all.. (neville, arteta & arguably yakubu)

Elbow to the face is a red card no matter what way you look at it

God this is going to sound hipocritical but thats hardly a slip up. Sure they dropped an easy 3 points due to being unlucky and a couple of late goals, but its 2 points behind. Like I said in the other thread I didn't see Manchester United streaking away from the pack and they haven't.

They're not, they're just excuses to not label Arsenal the best team on the day.

Browney
30-12-2007, 07:09 PM
Because Manchester United were 3 points behind not long ago, then Arsenal dropped 2 points to Portsmouth. I'm guessing you remember that. The point is, Arsenal brushed themselves off and fought their way back to the top. I can see the top being a see-saw for the rest of the season. One week, Arsenal are ahead, then Manchester might pull ahead for a few weeks then have another slip up and Arsenal will lead for seven weeks and so on.

Manchester City remain fifth after a 0-0 draw at home to Liverpool.
Liverpool dominated the match, but couldn't break down City defence, in particular Richard Dunne, who was immense. No complaints about the Ref Uriah Rennee he did nothing wrong for once o.O

Lost 3-0 against Bristol ******* Rovers... what the hell, like?!?

We were awful again, and let in two goals in the first 15min. They were really sloppy goals to concede too.. both from corners which we should have dealt with with ease. Really ****** off with the team at the minute, once again they showed no fighting spirit at all and were second best to everything. Best of all though, Rovers were a really bad team. They had one good bit of play all game which led to their 3rd goal, and to be fair, it was a tidy finish. To make the day even more worse, stood getting soaked on the open terrace, wish I went in that tent they have behind the goal now.

At least the bus journeys there and back were good craic, drowned me sorrows with the vodka on the way back. Could hardly walk when I got off the bus.

Must win game tomorrow...

they couldnt beat us and we had 8 because they were simply an awful side every chance they had they would put it out of their shed carlisle must have had an off day and you need to recover if your gonna get promoted and i stood in that bit.. thankfully it didnt rain and i imagine that it made the rugby pitch even worse .

Thats bad jamie mate :( Even bournemouth beat bristol rovers :S

For me i think the bottom 4 are like this: In that order

21-Bristol rovers
22-Crewe
23-Port vale
24-Cheltenham

Aslong as bournemouth can renew a few loans or get a few more good ones in we will survive. Same to luton aslong as they dont lose too many of their good players in jan as alot of theirs are wanted by other clubs.

carl we'll get relegated

we'll lose

edwards- forest
bell- wba
spring- sheff utd
brill- qpr
fojut- back to bolton
grant- back to chelsea

we have absoluely no hope if we lose that trio hopefully we can hold onto at least 3 of those

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jem Karacan, Alex Pearce, James Henry and Scott Golbourne all go back to their clubs after your new years game against brighton and reading have said they want to look at them and see how they have improved so you gotta hope bond can renew some of those

So does Gradel and jean-christophe although i dc about the later. Yer they have said that but i believe if we play our cards right we could sign gradel permantly as he is a real crowd favourite and seems to really enjoy and care about playin for the club. I think reading will hopefuly let us keep pearce and karacan and tbh im not too bothered about the other two although they both have done very well for us we have players in that position who are due to come back from injury, who are good if not better.
