Earlier today, Half Life 2 arrived (Bought from ebay)
It was in it's sleeve and everything, looked brand new.
I created my steam account, but it said I had to enter the Product Key
I did so, but it then said it was invalid or already been used.
I entered it correctly for 3-4 more times, and it came up with the same message.
How could this be, when it was in it's protective sleep and there is no way the CD key could've been seen.
I contacted Steam and they said there was nothing they could do, as it is already opened.
This is making me feel really sad, I spent £15.00 for this Game, and I can't even play it now.
Does anyone know a Half Life 2 CD Key generator or something like that, which could give me a CD key for it, I don't want my £15 to go to waste.

There are no keygens for steam games. Have you spoken to the person who you boguht it off of about it?

Yes, or you can contact valve.. They will ask you to send them a picture of the CD key and the case and they should send you a new one through e-mail or something.

shouldn't buy steam games off ebay, they are matched to accounts.

They are not matched to accounts when you buy them from a shop in the retail packagaing. It is only when you add the game key to your account the game is bound to that specific account.

He said looked brand new. It could easily have been repackaged.

tbh it's not that easy to re-pack them. They use that special strip tape thing you have to pull.

To be honest it would be better just to get the Orange Box.
