JK Rowling says she has not ruled out an eighth Harry Potter novel, although she is unlikely to consider writing it for another 10 years.
What is the point of that. By time she writes the book pepole whould have moved on.

Meh, I think she'll ruin it if she writes an eighth book.
I'd still buy it though ;)

When TIME voted her 2nd Runner Up as Person of The Year 2007, she said in an interview that...
"...if I did write an 8th book, it wouldn't be about Harry as I feel his story has been told. Although its unlikely I wont rule an 8th book out, however lets see where we are in 10 years time
But I doubt she will. Also, in a teaser trailer for the new documentary "A year in the life of JK Rowling" she told the interviewer she wouldnt write an 8th. So I personally cant see it happening.

I think she's just saying it to create a buzz and see how people respond. As Kardan said it will spoil the magic of Harry Potter, but people buy anything of hers, but I doubt she'd do it for money anyway.

Actually by releasing one if ten years, it will mean more money as then two generations will be buying the books.

I think another one would kill the story to be honest. Becuase something tragic would have to happen to create a decent storyline. And there would end up being a son of voldemort or something silly.

I can imagine in like 10 years harry becoming the head of hogwarts and his son fighting the son of voldermalt whos mother is a unicorn.

I like the harry potter books. J.K. Rowling is quite amazing...
Going from living in an upstairs flat to a billionaire in 15 years is quite a large thing to do...

I hope she doesn't because it's fine left as it is and if she drags it on to long it won't be as 'special'. However, if she does bring another one I know that i'd want to read it along with many others. Thousands of people would be eager to buy another one and i'm sure she's aware of this if she's ever short of a few bob.. :P

If she write other books, it would have to be about the "Wizarding World" or whatever, writing about Harry would be gay as I hate him. She'd have to write an entire saga as well, a spin-off book would seem ambiguous.

The best and most tactful way to do it I think is if it's based in the wizarding world, but not in anyway related to Harry. Then she keeps the appeal of the fantasy world made so popular but doesn't have to be accused of relying on Harry.
I'd probably still buy it though. :P

The 7th book had a happy ending?
As I said, she shouldn't continue the story about Harry or anything connected to him. Start a new saga/series.
Take it the book would be about his kids?

She could write about stories that happend around the time of Merlin, or just after Harry is dead and so on. The world she created has so much to write about.
