what do you think of the british armed forces

so thats navy RAF and the army. not the police. you can include RAF army and navy police.

i hate it when people are like "OUR TAX MONEYZ IS WASTED ON THE FORCES" uhh, wth? ok, we will spend nothing on the forces leaving them with **** weapons, clothing and transport. dont give the raf and navy money to fix planes and boats. LEAVE US OPEN TO ANYTHING.

join the RAF and become a radar scanner. you circle the UK in a sentinel for 2 weeks at a time. then do some military stuff for 4 weeks untill its your squadrons turn again (do stuff like war games andfly planes and shooting or do a 1 month patrol in iraq or something)

I think the forces do an excellent job and are a valuable asset to the country, risking their lives in order to save others.

I disagree of their placement, though. This isn't a fault of the forces, it is the government deploying more and more people into Iraq and Afghanistan for what? Weapons of Mass Destruction? No, it's for oil. Thousands of soldiers are dying to fuel the UK and US government's greed for oil.

Well if they werent their this country would be mad. I dont think i'd be joining the army although my Dad was in the Irish Guards for 5 years and said he'd rather me do a better job. I might go to a RAF/Army place for my Work Exsperience as i have seen others do. Unlike other work experience where you go in the morning and come home, and thats how it is for the next week or so. With this you go away for a week and learn and train and do boys stuff, lol. Which appeals to me.

I think the Armed Forces are becoming very useless due to Trident, Trident is the thing that keeps us safe not our Armed Forces. On the other hand we still need Armed Forces to keep order in our country and our allies so I think they are important still. Personally i'd like a Army like we had back in the Empire days . Labour sent our soliders into an illegal war to kill innocent people and to top it, they didn't supply them with the correct uniform or safety. I think the soliders who didn't go to Iraq because they thought it was wrong have more dignity than the ones who went. How could you go and shoot innocent people?

Whether it's with permission or not they are still being forced to kill innocent Iraqi's. On the American policy do not brand the Americans blood thirsty because it is their Administration which has sent them there not them. Our soliders and their soliders want to get out now and leave the hell hole we created called Iraq, nothing can fix Iraq now. A country would not dare attack us, not because of our small army but because of our missles.

France isn't close to us, it was back in the thirtys. Our army is quite small compard to other countrys and they wouldn't attack us just because we have a army, it's Trident that keeps us safe. If we were attacked then the United States and us would be first to send nuclear missles at the attacking country as a warning. If we were being attacked by a non nuclear state do you really think we'd try and send our little army into the attacking country? We wouldn't, that is the reason for Trident.

Untrue. Nuclear Weapons are a deterrent, if we are lucky we will never see them used. Wars are fought using the Armed Forces and we cannot just go around blowing up countries with Nuclear Missiles when we go to war. The Armed Forces are very, very important and I have a great respect for them all. I have considered joining but I am not sure yet :).

I am talking about a homeland attack on the country, of course we won't use Nuclear Weapons on other countrys which aren't a threat like Iraq. If a country was trying to invade us then Nuclear Arsenal would be used.
